Floyd Mayweather Agrees To Fight Manny Pacquiao Today: Finally, The Fight of the Century will Happen

After being very elusive, the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. has finally agreed to finally fight the 8th division world champion, Congressman Manny Pacquiao. In a press conference for his upcoming fight on September against Victor Ortiz, Mayweather Jr. was asked if he wants to fight Pacquiao after Ortiz, he said:

"I wanted the fans to know this, Floyd Mayweather doesn't dodge someone, the quetion is, do I want to fight Pacquiao? Absolutely yes, if that will make our fans happy, yeah I'll absolutely fight Pacquiao, step-by-step!"

Going back, the first reason why the fight of the century didn't happen was the huge money discrepancy that Mayweather was proposing. Manny Pacquiao later on agreed to fight him despite the huge discrepancy, but still the fight contract was not signed. And then after quite some time, Mayweather Jr. proceeded to ask Pacquiao to undergo the so called Olympic drug testing. Manny agreed but once again the fight didn't happen.

This time, in front of many people, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is showing a tremendous amount of enthusiasm and confidence that the fight will happen. Of course both of the fighters, Pacquiao and Mayweather should first finish their respective assignments. Mayweather should first beat Ortiz and Pacquiao will have to beat first Juan Manuel Marquez.

Who will be the pound for pound champion? That is the ultimate question that will be answered once the fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather Jr. happens.
