    Participating Teams In 22nd FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2011 In Philippines





    The 22nd FIBA will start on May 28, 2011 and it will be held in our country. The venue will be at Philsports Arena, the former Ultra. It's in Pasig. There will be 10 participating teams made up of two groups. The Philippines will be included in group A. Here's the complete lists of teams.

    Group A
    1. Smart Gilas Pilipinas - host
    2. Kuala Lumpur Dragons
    3. ASU Sports Club (Jordan)
    4. Al Ittihad Jeddah (Saudi Arabia)
    5. Duhok Sports Club (Iraq)

    Group B
    1. Mahram Tehran (Iran)
    2. Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut (Lebanon)
    3. Al Rayyan (Qatar)
    4. Al Jalaa Aleppo (Syria)
    5. Al Shabab Al Arabi (UAE)

    Many sports analysts believe that Jordan and Iran will be the two hardest teams to beat this year. Japan will not be able to join this year because of the adversities that they have been dealing with.

    This FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2011 is just a Club tournament. The real FIBA Asia Olympic qualifiers will be on September. Aksyon TV41 and TV5 are the host channels of this tournament. Tune in to those channels for the live basketball coverage.
