Rafael Nadal Advances to The 2010 US Open Semis

It has been a great year for Spain's athletes. Their National Basketball Team is on a 3 game winning streak in the FIBA Asia World Championship even if Pau Gasol decided not to play for them. And recently, the newest world no.1 in tennis, Rafael Nadal, also had his fair share of successful games in the 2010 US Open. He has defeated Teymuraz Gabashvili and he has also defeated Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan in a dashling way, 6-2, 7-6 (7/5), 7-5 in Arthur Ashe Stadium court. He has secured to himself a seat to the US Open semi-finals.

Nadal will most probably go against Gilles Simon from France in the finals. Simon defeated Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany 4-6, 6-3, 1-6, 6-1, 6-3. It was a very tight game unlike in Nadal's match it was a sweep.
