Denver Cuello Beats Mohammad Rachman TKO

It was a well dominated boxing match by our very own Denver "The Excitement" Cuello whose built overpowered the thin Mohammad Rachman. The aging Rachman finally went down in the 9th round after receiving heavy blows from the very youthful Cuello. If ever Cuello failed to knock Rachman down he would still win because the judges' score card are unanimous in their decision that he should win over Rachman.

Denver Cuello who trains in the Aljoe Jaro Boxing Gym here in the Philippines. He was the first boxer to beat the IBF minimum weight champion Rachman who hails from Indonesia. The 38 year old Rachman has a record of 62W-9L-5D, 31 KO’s and in his 75 fights he has never experienced a TKO loss.

It was a very successful career for Rachman, but when he faced the supposed to be predecessor of Mann Pacquiao, Denver Cuello his winning streak went to an end. Cuello targetted the weaker and thinner body of Rachman with his power blows and flicker jabs. The most critical punch that our pride, Cuello made was his left hook on the jaw of Rachman it happened in the middle of the 5th round wherein Rachman almost hugged the ropes.

In his first interview Cuello said, "Pride and conditioning kept me going." With the problems that our country has been facing we definitely need an encouraging moment and Cuello provided that.

Cuello has a record of 22 wins, 4 loss and 13 KO's, he is from Iloilo. He's a proud Ilocano who wants to be rich and famous so that he could help his friends and love ones. He's just 105 lbs., and his height is 5'3. With his win, he has just retained his WBC international belt.

Cuello's idol was Onyok Velasco because they have the same height and because they have the same quickness but Cuello has more power and agility than Velasco. He has a potential to be like Manny Pacquiao with his handspeed and athleticism in the ring.

Here's the most talked about TKO of Cuello, from YouTube:
