Venezuelan Elects Ernesto Mijares As The Team Captain of Their National Basketball Team 2010

The Venezuelan Basketball Team has been on and off these past few decades. Before, they were able to enter the Olympic Games in 1992 placing 11th overall. In the FIBA World Championship, in 1990 they were 11th, in 2002 14th, and in 2006 21st. In the Pan American Games, in 1955 they were 6th, in 1975 8th, in 1983 8th again, in 1987 8th again and in 1991 10th. In the recent FIBA World Championship 2010 in Istanbul Turkey they were not included in the competing teams. What happened to them?

I was told that they already changed their team management. The venezuelan elected Néstor Salazar "Mamá Osa" as their coach and they elected the fiery pointguard Ernesto Mijares as their team captain. It is but reasonable that they are still geling and that they are finding their momentum because of the changes that they have made.
