Rubilen Amit World 10-Ball Championship Semi-Finals Against Ga Young Kim

    By Val Marvin G. Macanas

Rubilen Amit has won three billiard games last yesterday and the most recent was against Line Kjoersvik of Norway. She beat him with an 8-2 score at the Women’s World 10-Ball Championship held at Robinson’s Galleria.

Rubilen is now 28 years old. Still fresh to dominate the women's world of billiards. Last year she was a double gold medalist in the 2009 Laos SEA Games.

Now she is about to add a feather to her hat. In beating Line Kjoersvik of Norway who is a 12-time national champion in Norway, she has entered the semi-finals of the Women’s World 10-Ball Championship 2010. She is now sure to get $5,000 by just entering the semi-finals.

Rubilen said,“Maybe I’ve got a little bit lucky but I felt a little embarrassed for her (Kjoersvik) because she really missed some big shots. If I were to hit it, I would have opted for a safety shot but it’s her (Yu) decision, maybe she thought she could hit it. I got lucky there.”

She will face Ga Young Kim in the semi-finals who defeated Yu Ram Cha in a convincing way.
