MANILA, Philippines - After losing in their first game against sister team Petron Blaze Boosters, the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel bounced back in a big way as they defeated the Meralco Bolts, 98-85 in the PBA Governors' Cup at the Cuneta Astrodome on Saturday night.
LA Tenorio didn't disappoint the huge Ginebra crowd inside the Cuneta Astrodome as he produced import like numbers, 34 points, 7 assists and 7 rebounds anchored on a spotless 5-out-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc.
But aside from his very impressive field-goal shooting in last night's game, the very critical Barangay Ginebra Fans also watched very carefully how the Lieutenant connected to their newest Big Man, Japeth Aguilar.
In Ginebra's first outing wherein they lost to the Blaze Boosters, the LA-Japeth connection only produced 17 points combined without any highlight dunk coming from the dunking machine Aguilar.
This time around against the Bolts, the LA-Japeth duo produced a whopping 47 big points.
On top of that, the Ginebra fans also cherished the fact that LA was able to orchestrate an alley-hoop play that gave Japeth a chance to show to the Ginebra fans what he does best and that is to dunk the ball with full force as if letting out all the disappointments that he got in their game against Petron.
Things are now looking good for BGSM as LA has finally acquired the IP Address of Japeth and that they can now connect anytime in their upcoming games.
Expect more dunks like this from Aguilar.
