Renaldo Balkman Apologizes To Arwind Santos and Ronald Tubid

In the past years that I’m watching the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), I haven’t seen a PBA Import choke his own teammate on the basketball court. That’s the reason why I was shocked when NBA Veteran Renaldo Balkman did that to one of PBA’s best Arwind Santos.

Balkman initially got upset because of a non call late by the refs late in the game. And then all of a sudden he just went berserk while trying to plead his case. Concerned teammates came to the rescue e.g. Arwind Santos and Ronald Tubid, but it seemed that they were the ones who needed help especially Arwind who got choked by Balkman.

Balkman gave Choke a whole new meaning. He proved that “Choke” in wrestling can also be applied in basketball.

But after the incident, what’s important right now is the unity of the team and the fact that Balkman has already apologized for what happened via Twitter.

An impending defeat + poor field goal shooting probably triggered his seemingly uncontainable anger on the hard-court.

While watching the game, you can really tell that Balkman is a passionate player, that he badly wanted to extend the winning streak of Petron, and to eventually place his team at the top of the team standings. Sadly, the Alaska Aces got the better of them this time around.
