The overhauled USA Dream Team is on a hot 2 game winning streak in the 2010 Fiba World Championship in Turkey. They have run over the surging Croatian Basketball Team and lately they just bullied their way against the struggling Slovenian National Team.
The first two games were both close in the first half. The Team USA had a hard time maintaining their double digit lead in the first half in their first two games against Croatia and Slovenia because both these teams have tall and bulky big men who made it tough for Kevin Love, Tyson Chandler and Lamar Odom to score. Fortunately, during the second half of those two games, the outside shooting of Kevin Durant, Eric Gordon and Andre Iguodala turned it on for the team. In the first game, Eric Gordon had16 points and Kevin Durant had 14 points enroute to beating Croatia via 106-78 in its Group B opener. And in the second game against Slovenia, Kevin Love made some crucial putbacks, Derrick Rose made great and crispy passes to Andre Iguodala which enabled him to have three great dunks. They won via 77-99. They are current 2-0 leading the group B bracket.
During their third game which was against the Brazilian National Team, their weaknesses were exposed. from having double digit turnovers and from not having any inside presence against the big men of Brazil like Tiago Splitter and Leandro Barbosa.
The game was very tight, and there were atleast 13 lead changes. The score was 58-60 in favor of the USA Team. Below are the games highlights.
