    Shaquille O'neal Joins Boston Celtics

The big threes are all over the NBA for the past three years. There's Gasol, Bryant and Bynum for the Lakers. There's Carter, Howard, and Lewis for the Magic and the trend goes on and on and on. This summer the Miami Heat tried their very best to get the arguably best player in the world today, LeBron James. They themselves made a big three out of James, Wade and Bosh.

The Boston Celtics on the other hand are wary about the on going trend- the big three thingy. To tell you the truth, they are one of those who started it, they are the proponents if not they are one of those who started it. With that in mind they once again want to make a revolution in basketball. From the big three thingy, they added Rondo to that group and thus there came to exist the big four. And now they get the big diesel a.k.a. Shaquille O'neal, a fifteen times all star player. The once big four is now big five. Shaquille will sign the contract today for the Celtics.

It might be time to tinker with that list now that the Boston Celtics are on the verge of clearing up the only remaining hole on their roster. The addition of the league’s only active O’Neals (Jermaine O’Neal was added weeks ago and Shaquille O’Neal could have his deal completed as early as today) pushes the Celtics right back into the thick of the chase.

The Heat no doubt boast one of the best superstar trios in the league in Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh. And the Lakers are obviously stacked with Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Ron Artest, Andrew Bynum, Derek Fisher and Lamar Odom leading the charge.

The Celtics still have the original Big 3 — and despite evidence to the contrary early on in the 2010 NBA Finals, Kevin Garnett still has plenty of game left. But it’s not just the addition of Shaq that puts the Celtics in a great place. It’s the sum of their summer activity (Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and the underrated Nate Robinson kept in the fold, the quality draft night additions of Avery Bradley and Luke Harangody and the all-important Doc Rivers coming back for another season, etc.) that keeps them around the top spot in the East.

Below I have a video on how Shaq helped the Cavaliers get to the Playoffs. I do hope that he could bring his style of playing to the Boston Celtics. If he could just get slimmer I believe he can be like the Shaq of old during his Laker days. Garnett is not getting any younger and he definitely needs Shaq to help him get those rebounds and putbacks. Once slimmer Shaq could make the Celtics a title contender this coming NBA (ene-be-a) Season.
