Ateneo Blue Eagles Beats San Beda Red Lions In FilOil Flying V 2011 Pre-season Game Premier Cup

Flying like a flock, the Ateneo De Manila Blue Eagles have once again clawed the San Beda Red Lions in their first meeting in the FilOil Flying V pre-season premier Cup 2011 held in The Arena in San Juan. The Eagles won with the score of 90-87.

Ateneo's phenom, Kiefer Ravena proved to all his haters that he is the best high school recruit in the whole Philippines. He burned the Red Lions as he scored 25 huge points and 4 crucial and tight assists. He played well in his first ever game as a Blue Eagle. He made several crucial plays including an ally-hoop pass to Greg Slaughter. The 7 footer Greg Slaughter worked his way inside while Kiefer worked his way all over the court. Shooting threes, slashing to the basket, buzzer beaters, name it Kiefer has it. He is the Phenom!

Coach Norman Black was speechless with regard to Kiefer's performance. Their efforts in recruiting this kid have paid off.

Kiefer's parents, Bong and Mozzy Ravena were both athletes during their prime. That's primarily the reason why their son is a winner. Bong played for the UE Red Warriors basketball team while Mozzy played for the UST Tigresses volleyball team. Mozzy led UST to 5 championships.

Kiefer, who's only 17 years old had a great field goal shooting for the Eagles. He shot 10 out of 12 tries from the field to go along with 3 rebounds and 2 steals.

His new partner, Greg Slaughter had 26 points and 2 blocks.

The San Beda Red Lions' Ola Adeogun scored 30 huge points for the Mendiola based squad. Coach Franky Lim was forced to field him in the line-up because he wants to win the FilOil summerleague. Adeogun is not yet eligible for the upcoming NCAA cage wars.

Here's Kiefer Ravena's video highlights from YouTube:
