Team USA Beats Angola: Enters FIBA World Championship Quarterfinals In Turkey

Chauncey the "big shot" Billups came out on fire as he shot 7 three pointers for Team USA. He scored 19 points. Those points came when Angola was threatening to cut their lead into 15 points. Kevin Durant addes 17 points enroute to beating Angola via 121-66. Team USA has finally entered the quarterfinals thru their win. The tournament is now down to 8 teams vying for the title.

Of all the players of Team USA it was Billups who surprised the Angolans because of his three point shooting. Prior to the game he has had shot just 4-of-19 on the three-point area in their past five games in Group B but he shot very this time against Angola.

He said "I have a routine that I do in the regular season, and I have a routine that I do in the playoffs. I stayed after our last practice to shoot several jumpers and that kept me going hopefully this momentum would stay for the rest of my basketball career. I want a ring." The Americans now advances to the quarterfinals wherein Russia will be their next opponent. Russia won over New Zealand via 78-56. He also got help from Derrick Rose who had 1 block and three three pointers. Eric Gordon also chipped in some valuable three pointers.
