Scottie Thompson Talks About Coach Tim Cone and the Triangle Offense of Ginebra: Story Here!
By Val Macanas
After 13 years, the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta Altas (UPHSD) once again has a player who got drafted in the first round of the annually held PBA Draft. Back in 2002, it was Chester "The Elevator" Tolomia, this 2015, it is the versatile Scottie Thompson who got selected by the arguably most popular ball club in the country, Ginebra.
As destiny would have it, Thompson's favorite coach is Tim Cone as he's a fan of the then San Mig Coffee Mixers (now Star Hotshots). Thus, he's happy to play under the cool and calm coach.
"Napunta ako sa favorite coach ko so sobrang happy ako. Yun lang pinagppray ko," said the 6'1 combo guard who showed some affinity to the vaunted Triangle Offense.
"Sana mabilis akong makapag adjust sa offense ng Ginebra. Most of the time din naman sa Perps (Perpetual) triangle offense kami designed para sa big men namin."
A complete player, Thompson definitely has the aptitude to be a vital part of the Ginebra rotation come the start of the PBA Season 41 slated to open on October 18.
