The NU Lady Bulldogs surprised a number of volleyball fans after their 3 straight sets win (25-20, 25-20, 25-19) yesterday against the twice-to-beat DLSU Lady Spikers to force a rubber match on Saturday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
With their backs against the wall, the Lady Bulldogs went full throttle as they never gave DLSU a chance to get a set. Myla Pablo, Jaja Santiago, Jorelle Singh, Desiree Dadang and Rizza Mandapat all contributed heavily to push NU over the perennial title contenders DLSU Lady Spikers via a convincing way.
NU's Coach Roger Gorayeb was all smiles after their win, but he is also aware that they can't relax against a perennial title contender squad like DLSU.
"La Salle has the liberty to lose this game, siyempre twice-to-beat sila. Masaya kami naipanalo namin ang first game pero hindi pwedeng mag-relax kasi andami pang dapat gawin," said coach Roger.
But on top of everything, he gave credit to his players who gave him something to be happy about yesterday. He also revealed the secrets on how they got the win.
"Gusto ko lang makita ang mga bata na maglaro. Maganda lahat nilaro nila. Nakakatuwa sila. Yung keys to winning namin, yung BLOCKING maganda, yung RECEPTION hindi ganong maganda pero maganda parin kumpara sa dati. Dapat pa mag improve," the energetic NU Coach said.
