Fresh from being named as the recipient of the prestigious Wayman Tisdale Award (for the most outstanding Freshman of the Year) by the USA Basketball Sports Writers Association, the 6'8 Duke University Forward Jabari Parker has not only reigned supreme on the newspapers, he has also earned to the approval of top NBA Players.
Out of 4 prominent NBA Players, 3 of which chose and praised Jabari among all other top college basketball standouts such as Joel Embiid, Andrew Wiggins and Julius Randle. They all highlighted his crazy basketball talent and NBA Ready body. Here's what they have to say about Parker.
Chris Paul: "For me, it's easy. It's Jabari Parker. I have an AAU team. I get a chance to see these kids when they're 14 and 15 years old. I'm at the Peach Jam. And Jabari, if you could still go to the NBA out of high school, I feel like he would've went. He's talented. He's ready for the next level." ...
Paul George: "My No. 1 pick would probably be Jabari Parker. He is the most polished college player right now, as well as one of the top players with the most upside." ...
Carmelo Anthony: "I'm a big Jabari fan, but it also depends on who has the pick at the No. 1 spot. But as far as being NBA ready, I think Jabari is ready."
Chris Paul, Paul George, and Carmelo Anthony pulled for Jabari, with the exception of Chrish Bosh who admires the style of play of Joel Embiid.
Parker's stat-line is well above the average for most Freshmen. He is second in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in scoring with 19.3 points per game and he leads the league in rebounding with 8.8 rebounds per game. He has scored in double figures in 17 straight games and in 32 of 34 games this season, breaking the Duke freshman record held by Luol Deng and Gene Banks. He is indeed a top NBA Prospect, a projected top 3 pick for the upcoming NBA Draft 2014 which will happen on June 26.
