The Ateneo De Manila University Blue Eagles are back on the winning column in the FilOil Flying V Pre Season Cup 2013 after they defeated the win-less LPU Pirates, 84-64.

However, one of the Eagles' key players, Von Pessumal suffered a terrible finger injury that forced him to be out indefinitely for the Blue Eagles.

Some of the fans of Ateneo are blaming Lyceum's Shane Ko for causing Von Pessumal's finger injury, but Von quickly clarified things out.

"Thankful for a great family and many thoughtful friends. The surgery went well. The timetable for a return is still up in the air, but if theres one thing for sure, I promise to never give up on myself. I will work even harder than I did before," said Von.

"Thank you everyone for keeping me in your thoughts. Please continue to support the team especially in the coming months.Btw, Shane Ko of Lyceum had nothing to do with all this, even if reports say so.. It was just a freak accident" added Von.

His absence will detrimentally affect Ateneo because he's one of the three point shooters of the team who has had been helping Kiefer Ravena on the scoring end.
