Manny Pacquiao Showing Signs of Parkinson’s Disease?

Manny Pacquiao may still have an unwavering will to continue fighting on the ring, but his body could be on the shorter end of the stick.

Dr. Rustico Jimenez, a Filipino Doctor, believes that he can see signs of Parkinson’s disease (a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system) during Manny’s interviews.

“Even though his reflexes are quick, I noticed the movement - it's just another view, my personal view - but it seems like there are early signs. There are some movements that you will notice with his hands. It's in the hands, and not the head, where you can easily see this. It twitches a little bit. Although I haven't seen it up close, I think I am seeing that there are some signs," said Dr. Jimenez.

Another doctor, Miss Raquel Fortun, also believes that there’s something wrong about Manny’s health condition. She’s not convinced by the CT Scan results from Pacquiao’s most recent bout against Juan Manuel Marquez wherein he was knocked out.

"When the brain gets shook like that, it's very dangerous. Since it's not truly fixed to you skull, when your brain gets shaken, there are connections that get cut off, and you get small hemorrhages.... The forensic expert expressed alarm over reports that Pacquiao allegedly had a slight seizure after falling unconscious from Marquez's hammer blow to the head.” – Dr. Fortun.
Pacquiao started his boxing career in 1995. Since then he has fought a lot of tough fighters. Although, he has not been seriously hospitalized after all those fights, wear and tear might still haunt him later on especially now that he’s already 34 years old. All the other famous athletes experience wear and tear. But, what’s worse is that he may end up having symptoms of the dreaded Parkinson’s disease just like what the Doctors speculated. Hopefully not, knock on wood.
