NU Beats De La Salle In Fr. Martin's Cup 2010

The National University Bulldogs beats the DLSU Green Archer with the score of 71-59. They are now the division 2 basketball champs of the 8th Fr. Martin Cup last Sunday at the San Beda College Gym in Mendiola.

La Salle had a 15-5 advantage in the start of the game behind the heavy scoring of spitfire pointguard LA Revilla, and former national youth team standouts Norbert Torres and Jed Manguera.

But it was the 6'4 guard Bobby Ray Parks Jr., son of former PBA seven-time Best Import winner Bobby Sr. carried the NU Bulldogs towards the championship. They are now a different team from the day Bobby Parks Jr. set foot in the campus of NU.

Park's teamates, Mon Celiz and Dennis Villamor also did the damage for NU as they helped trim the lead of the Archers down to four, 38-34 in the third quarter.

The former UST Tigercub Cedric Labing-isa also had 10 points to help the Bulldogs overcome the Archers.

Junnel Baculi said “We’re now starting to reap the fruits of the school’s labor and we hope to sustain the momentum by training harder."
