After committing to UCLA, Kobe Paras’ basketball journey continues. This time, he will join 3 other High School ballers with Filipino blood (Avery Carter, Jameel McGill, and Vicente Mojares) in a basketball showcase game in the historic Staples Center – the home of the Lakers and the Clippers on Monday before the Spurs-Clippers game.
Paras will play with his notable teammates Milan Acquaah and Lucas Siewert and the rest of the LA Purple Ghosts squad under the baton of coach William Middlebrooks.
With regard to exposure, the Fil-am ballers: Carter, McGill, and Morajes will have a golden chance to improve their stocks and get the attention of college scouts during the event. Kobe on the other hand, has already committed to a big Division 1 school – UCLA.
But despite that, Kobe and his team will go all out and try to rack up some wins because not everyone gets the opportunity to play in front of avid Lakers fans and leave a lasting mark on the Staples Center hardcourt.
“I’m excited because I've never played in that stadium (Staples Center). Hopefully, I do good, and my teammates will, too. And hopefully, we’ll get the win,” Paras said in an interview.
