Only 11 Players for Gilas in Asian Games 2014 without Marcus Douthit? Manny V. Pangilinan Solves The Problem, Here's How

    By BallersPinas

The past few days have been very tough for the Smart Gilas Pilipinas Men's Basketball Team as they prepare for the upcoming 2014 Asian Games in Incheon South Korea.

First it was Andray Blatche, and now, Marcus Douthit got the attention of the tournament organizers. Marcus was on the verge of not playing for Team Philippines due to the organizers' decision.

If their decision will continue to prosper, our team will have to play in the Asian Games with just 11 ballers minus Douthit.

Naturally, the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) president, Big Boss Manny V. Pangilinan, can't accept the Philippines facing possibility to play with only 11 players.

"PH facing possibility to play 11 players. This is unacceptable. We should have the allowable 12 players," MVP Tweeted.

Good thing MVP is persistent. He found a way to talk to the right persons about Marcus' eligibility issues. He then got the nod of the organizers. They have allowed the 6'11 naturalized center to play.

This should be their final decision. Otherwise, they might face a lot of bad accusations. Go Gilas! Laban Pilipinas, Puso!
