D Rose 4.5 Adidas Basketball Shoe Review : Price, Picures, and More, Out Now In The Philippines

    By Val Marvin Macanas

    The D Rose 4.5…
“Combine appeal and performance, the output will be the new D-Rose 4.5 Basketball Shoes.” Look at it, touch it, and wear it. You’ll sense the same feeling when I wore it and played basketball with it.
Released in early February here in the Philippines, Filipino ballers and shoe enthusiasts all over the world have been buzzing about the shoe and its unique details – the upper part, and its cushioning system the adiPRENE Technology. A shoe review definitely has to come out from the Philippines that’s meant to impart some important information to the millions of shoe-lovers out there. And so, here we go.

The Upper Part and Movement Support of the shoe

The D Rose 4.5 features an all-new hybrid skin upper design that has a functional and stylish pattern representing the fastest and most unique animals on the planet while meeting Derrick’s high standards of style. The hybrid skin upper of SPRINTWEB and SPRINTSKIN enhances support on the lateral side of the shoe. The upper part of the shoe reminds me of the Reebok Shaqnosis. The iconic curvaceous wave-like design is really an aye-candy. I can’t help but admire it.
The upper held my feet really well when I did some basketball moves with the shoe. My feet felt well established and well supported while doing some lateral movements and cross-over dribbles around the cones. I’ll give the shoe’s lateral support an A grade. Definitely a thumbs up!

    Shoe Ventilation and comfort

In line with the upper part of the shoe, it has a lot of perforations that improve the Ventilation and Overall Comfort of the Shoe. I didn't experience any perspiration or a sweaty feel on my feet while wearing this new pair of kicks. Definitely, the shoe comfort of this shoe is A+. The comfort was also heightened by the GEOFIT Collar of the shoe. It was really soft and adaptive.

    Outsole and Traction

The Crazyquick outsole traction pattern of the shoe promotes a better foot movement when cutting and driving hard to the basketball. My feet felt more adherence and flexibility with the shoe. In effect I was able to move better and faster while wearing this pair of kicks. Performance wise, this is a B+ shoe for point-guards and shooting guards who want to move quicker.
    Cushioning

The D-Rose 4.5 basketball shoe has an improved cushioning system because of the adiPRENE cushioning technology. The technology has been tried and tested for several years now. It has gotten a lot of good feedbacks from different sports science writers because it provides more comfort and more energy return while maintaining a lighter feel on the feet.
The sole also features high-grade injection molded EVA to ensure the most lightweight, flexible and cushioned ride on the court.

I did some jumping drills and rebounding drills with it and the cushioning was just right. I didn't experience any leg pains, knee pains or any other sort of lower body problems. I give the cushioning of this shoe a B grade. Just check it out, fit it, and you’ll feel what I felt.  I will definitely make this my regular basketball shoe partner. Highly recommended for guards.

Other Notable Details of The Shoe
Additional details include the signature D Rose logo which features three petals that revolve around the letter “D” and number “1” in the center, prominently located on the collar and tongue. Found also on the bumper of the shoe is the Derrick Rose Insignia.
