Alaska Aces' Calvin "The Beast" Abueva has been making big waves this Season especially in the PBA Playoffs. That "Abueva Effect" was first experienced by the fans of SanMig Coffee wherein Abueva did everything within his means to propel the Aces over James Yap and the rest of the Coffee Mixers. He crashed on the floor numerous times just to get the loose balls, he guarded James Yap effectively, and he drove to the basket as if no one is in front of him just like a true Beast.
What's scary is that he's doing those same admirable things in the PBA Finals against the fan favorite Barangay Ginebra San Miguel (BGSM). He brings a lot of energy, excitement and hustle for the Aces every-time he's on the floor.
PBA Fans can admire him or ridicule him, but they can never deny the Beast's huge heart and unbreakable will to win. That's probably the reason why after the Aces' big 104-90 win in the PBA Finals Game 2, a news broke out saying that The Beast was mobbed by PBA Fans.
"Alaska's Abueva mobbed by fans as he left MOA Arena last night-amazing impact by a rookie on and off the court, both positive and negative," said The Dean Quinito Henson via Twitter.
That's the "Abueva-Effect" for you!
