Calvin Abueva Visited Referee Edward Aquino In The Hospital: The Beast Cares!

During one of the sequences of Alaska’s game against Barako Bull Energy Cola last Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Calvin “The Beast” Abueva accidentally collided with one of the PBA Referees, Ref. Edward Aquino.

The Ref. looked A-Ok after the collision. He still continued to officiate the game that Alaska won, 85-81. But few days after the game, a picture circulated all over the internet showing Referee Aquino lying on a hospital bed, looking drained and weak.

Calvin said that he was just focused on the game and that he didn’t intend to collide with Ref. Aquino.

He was worried about what happened to the Referee who allegedly suffered banged up tissues on his spine that may result to a slipped disc problem. It could be the same problem that sidelined NBA Star Center Dwight Howard last Season.

After learning that Ref. Aquino had been hospitalized, Calvin visited him in the hospital to personally apologize for what happened.

Here’s Ref. Aquino smiling with Calvin.
