UST Enters UAAP 75 Finals: Kevin Ferrer Rose To The Occasion


The UST Tigers have entered the UAAP Season 75 Men's Basketball Finals after they beat the NU Bulldogs via 63-57 earlier today at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum. They await the winner between the Ateneo Blue Eagles and the DLSU Green Archers.

The former UAAP Juniors MVP, Kevin Ferrer rose to the occasion and finally showed what he can do on the basketball court as he helped the UST Tigers win this ballgame. He led all the scorers in this game. He scored 17 big points for UST.

Aside from Ferrer, 2 other players stepped up for UST. The very consistent Karim Abdul scored 15 points while Aljon Mariano pitched in 14 points.

UST had a well balanced scoring in this ballgame while NU on the other hand relied heavily on Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and Jeff Javillonar. Parks had 12 points while Javillonar notched 15 points. Emmanuel Mbe was not in his usual self in this game as he only had 4 points. He was dominated by Abdul in this ballgame.

The game was very close right from the start. UST only had a 6 point lead, 56-50 at the start of the 4th Quarter.

NU had a 7-0 run in the 4th quarter to cut UST's lead down to 2 points, 59-57 with 3 minutes remaining in the Final Quarter.

UST tightened up their defense to stop the Bulldogs. The Tigers managed to convert in their next possessions to increase their lead to 6 points, 63-57, to end the ballgame.

After 6 Long Years the UST Growling Tigers are back in the UAAP Finals.
