    Ateneo Lady Eagles Defeated Malaysia in 17th ASEAN University Games: Here's What Happened

    The UAAP Season 76 Women's Volleyball Tournament Champs Ateneo Lady Eagles opened their their campaign in the 17th ASEAN University Games on the right foot after beating Malaysia via 25-21, 25-18, 15-25, and 25-8 (4-set win) Tuesday afternoon at the famous Palembang Sports and Convention Center in Indonesia.

    Contrary to rumors claiming that Aeriel Patnongon scored 40 pts. for the team, it was Alyssa Valdez who scored heavily. She showed her spiking power and high flying antics to the passionate crowd inside the stadium. She accumulated 20 big points while their rookie middle hitter Bea de Leon added 12 successful hits.

    The Ellavator Ella De Jesus also chipped in some much needed points along with the lanky Jhoanna Maraguinot who pitched in 7 hits.

    17th ASEAN University Games Schedule of Games for Ateneo:

    Ateneo will go against Indonesia on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. (Manila time), against the Asian Powerhouse Thailand on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and then to finish the elimination round, they will face Singapore on Saturday at 6:00 p.m..
