Josh Powell is Ginebra 's New Import to Replace Leon Rodgers in PBA Commissioner's Cup 2014

By Val Marvin Macanas

Fresh from playing in China, Josh Powell, a 2-Time NBA Champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, is getting ready to fly here in the Philippines to serve as the replacement of Barangay Ginebra import Leon Rodgers. He is expected to arrive in our country tomorrow (Tuesday).

Ginebra is currently 8th in the PBA Commissioner's Team Standings with a 2-4 win-loss record. And with this news confirming the impending arrival of Powell comes the belief of the millions of Ginebra faithfuls that their team can arrest their losing skid and once again be a contender this Conference.

Josh and the rest of the Ginebra team will be attempting to get that much needed win on Wednesday against the unpredictable Meralco Bolts.

To those who want to know Josh Powell more, he is a 6-year NBA Veteran with a 6'9 frame who can shoot from the perimeter and dunk the ball with great force and power. He can also do jump-hooks and he can rebound the ball at will. But above everything else, he can defend well. That's what Kobe Bryant used to like most about Powell when he was still a Laker. He can really be a defense minister on the court. Powell also likes lifting weights in the weight room.
