Pido Jarencio Leaves UST To Coach GlobalPort Batang Pier: Who Will Be The New Coach of The Tigers?

The Last Cry of Coach Pido Jarencio as UST Tigers Head Coach...

       By BallersPinas

Manila, Philippines --  After more than 7 years of handling his alma mater's Men's Basketball Team, Pido Jarencio announced that he has already left UST to pursue his long-time dream of coaching a Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Basketball Club.

Coach Pido said that he has informed the higher officials of UST i.e. Fr. Ermito de Sagon O.P., the director of the Institute of Physical Education and Athletics, and Fr. Herminio Dagohoy O.P., UST Rector, regarding his decision to leave the Tigers den.

No formal word yet on who will be the new head coach of the Tigers, but as of the moment, former PBA Player and Coach Pido's close friend Estong Ballesteros is the one supervising the training of the UST seniors team.

Jarencio led UST to an epic Cinderella run in 2006 wherein they captured the UAAP Men's Basketball Crown at the expense of the mighty Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles. Pride, Puso, Palaban was his claim to fame mantra back then, and we can be sure that that will also be his core principles once he starts manning the sidelines as GlobalPort 's new head coach.

Jarencio also served as a part of the coaching staff of the SMC owned team Petron Blaze Boosters.
