A big bounce-back win happened earlier today in the NBA.
After losing to the defending champs Miami Heat, Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls bounced-back in their game against fellow contender in the East Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks at the United Center in Chicago via 82-81.
The Bulls maintained their lead from the first quarter up to the end of the 3rd period, leading by as much as 10 points, 71-61, to fend off the Knicks.
When the 4th quarter started, Andrea Bargnani, Carmelo Anthony, and Raymond Felton sparked a run to trim the Bulls' lead and eventually force a seesaw battle.
The game went down the wire.
Knicks dynamic center Tyson Chandler had a chance to ice the game with less than 10 seconds left in regulation, but he split his freethrows, leaving the door wide open for the Bulls.
Lo and behold, Coach Thibs designed a cold-blooded play for his team's revitalized go-to-guy Derrick Rose. Rose breezed through the Knicks defenders and then he finished the play with a gorgeous floater over the outstretched arms of Knicks bigs. The ball went in with 5.7 ticks left on the clock.
The Knicks had a chance to counter via Carmelo's perimeter jumpshot but it didn't went in. And so the Bulls got the Win.
Rose led the Bulls in scoring with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Deng added 17 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds.
The Knicks on the other hand, leaned on the 22 points, 6 assist and 6 rebounds of their skipper Carmelo Anthony. Chandler provided some toughness in the shaded lane with his 19 monster rebounds.
