Manila, Philippines -- The NBA will have a new partner that will help bring more NBA action to the Philippines.

The NBA AND SUN LIFE FINANCIAL (a leading international insurance company) have agreed to a regional multi-year promotional partnership. A Partnership to cover NBA events in Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Part of Sun Life's duty as a promotional partner of the NBA is to be involved with upcoming NBA events in the Philippines as well as in the other two aforementioned countries. The partnership will tip off with an NBA Cares event in Manila for children from Manila Boys Town Complex, an orphanage for homeless children and teenagers, on Sept. 6.

Sun Life will also be integrated into the first-ever NBA Global Games Philippines 2013 between the Indiana Pacers and the Houston Rockets at the World-Class SM Mall of Asia Arena on October 10, 2013.

The partnership of Sun Life and NBA not only allows us to bring fun and excitement closer to NBA fans in the Philippines but also allows us to make lives brighter through sports and wellness," said Miss Riza.

“The NBA’s partnership with Sun Life will allow us reach a wider group of individuals across Asia Pacific and help strengthen the league’s efforts in the region,” said Francesco Suarez, Vice President of Business Development & Marketing Partnerships, NBA Asia.

“The NBA shares Sun Life’s firm commitment to the communities we work in and we look forward to a rewarding venture together,” added Sir Suarez.
