The Ateneo Lady Eagles defeated the FEU Lady Tamaraws in their UAAP Season 75 Women’s Volleyball showdown at The Arena in San Juan.
The first few sets of the game were dominated by Ateneo. Take a look at the set scores: 25-19, 25-22, 6-25, 25-27, and 15-9.
Ateneo took the first and second sets, but FEU rose to the challenge to take the 3rd and 4th sets. They showed a never say die attitude in this game as they came back to force a 5th Set that made the game more interesting.
Ateneo started out strong in the 5th and final set as Alyssa Valdez took it upon herself to take over the closer’s role for the Lady Eagles. Through her, the Lady Eagles had a comfortable 11-7 advantage in the 5th set. That 4 point lead made it hard for the Lady Tams to catch up, eventually losing to Ateneo. The last set ended 15-9.
Valdez led the Ateneo Lady Eagles in this classic match. She had a total of 22 successful attacks, 3 sharp serves and 1 imposing block for the Lady Eagles.
Vargas and Palma on the other hand, scored heavily for the Lady Tamaraws. Palma was very impressive in this match. She's really a gem of a find.
Ateneo’s next assignment will be the UE Lady Warriors on December 5 (Wednesday).
