San Sebastian Dominated San Beda in NCAA Season 88 2nd Round Game

By Kristina Caramel Sy

The San Sebastian Golden Stags defeated the San Beda Red Lions for the 2nd
time in the elimination round of the NCAA Season 88 via 69-55.

The Pina-TWO-bo duo, Ian Sangalang (19 points and 10 rebounds with 4
blocks) and the beast Calvin Abueva (23 points and 16 rebounds) registered
double-double points that crashed the Red Lions once again this Season.

Stags played minus Ronald Pascual due to an early disqualifying foul that he
received in the 5:54 mark of the first quarter.

Thankfully, their second stringer, Dexter Maiquez, who's been playing with the Recto squad for 3 years, notched another double-double 13 points and 10 rebounds that replaced the supposed to be output of Pascual.

The Red Lions were struggling throughout the game. They tried to smash
the doors of the Stags to steal the lead, but Calvin Abueva
has other plans. He sank crucial treys to ruin the blazing
fire of the Red Lions.

Coach Allan said that winning two games against San Beda will not be
an assurance that they will win the Title. They first have to handle the other tough teams in the Final Four such as Letran.

San Sebastian Stags now have a twice-to-beat advantage against the Letran Knights. The Stags never won any single match in the elimination round versus Letran.
