Letran Secures NCAA Season 88 Final 4 Slot With A Win Against Arellano

By Kristina Caramel Sy

The Letran Knights defeated the Arellano Chiefs in their final match in
the elimination round of NCAA Season 88 Men's Basketball via 76-58.

Kevin Alas listed a double-double 24 points and 10 assists add to that the 6
important rebounds that he got in this game. His big time performance sealed the win for Letran.

Both Teams started the game well in fact the score was tied at the end of the 1st half.

But the Knights had a big run early in the third period after the Arellano bench received a technical foul because of improper decorum. That infraction froze the Chiefs into only 6 points on that period.

Arellano's rookie, Julius Cadavis, showed his dominance on this match as he
produced 18 points and 7 rebounds for the Chiefs. That made him the top
scorer for the Legarda squad. But his efforts were put into waste as they lost to Letran.

The Knights will be finishing either 2nd or 3rd place. That will depend on
the result of the SBC vs SSC-R match on Monday. SBC and SSC-R are currently on the 1st and 2nd spot of the team standings. Letran being in the 3rd spot will surely face
the Stags in the Final 4.

JRU and Perps meanwhile are tied in the 4th spot of the standings. There might be a playoff game between these two schools to determine who will enter the Final 4.
