Tamika Catchings MVP of WNBA 2011 Season: She Wants To Be The Best

The 2011-2012 WNBA MVP has already been revealed and her name is Tamika Catchings. And, just like any other basketball player who won an MVP Award, her mantra is "to be the best."

And indeed she has now become one of the best players in the WNBA. As a testament on how good she really is, take a look at her past achievements in the highest women's basketball league in the whole wide world.

Tamika was a/an:

Member of All-Decade Team
Member of Top 15 Team
Olympic Gold Medalist (2004, 2008)
7× WNBA All-Star (2002, 2003, 2005-2007, 2009, 2011)
4× Defensive Player of the Year (2005, 2006, 2009, 2010)
Rookie of the Year (2002)
Kim Perrot Sportsmanship Award (2010)

And this year, today, as an icing on top of the cake, Tamika has been named as the 2011 WNBA Most Valuable Player (MVP). Her full season average of 15.5 points, 2 steals, 3.5 assists and 7.1 rebounds per game enabled her to win this year's WNBA MVP plum. And also, her impact to her team's (Indiana Fever) best record in the Eastern Conference is invaluable that's why the MVP committee gave her the award.

Her sacrifices and her hard work have really paid off today. Congrats Tamika!
