Jay Jay Helterbrand To Retire Soon After PBA Season 37 First Conference?

The Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings Team is again facing a new problem. After losing Rudy Hatfield for the whole of PBA Season 37, they may also lose one of their superstars, Jay Jay Helterbrand.

The one time PBA MVP (Helterbrand) is now contemplating on a possible retirement because he thinks that he no longer has that 100 percent competitive drive in his heart. And, that thinking prompted him to ask only a one-conference contract-extension deal with Ginebra for the PBA Season 37. That's the reason why we should not be surprised if Jay Jay retires after the All Filipino Cup.

An Official from the San Miguel Corporation (SMC) Mr. Robert Non was the one who confirmed that Helterbrand only asked for a one-conference contract extension. He said that:

“Tignan nya raw muna kung kaya pa nya. Pag hindi na, baka bumalik na daw sya sa US dahil lumalaki na raw ang anak nya. Gusto nyang mabantayan sa paglaki.”

Meanwhile, Major Pain Erick Menk asked for a 1 year contract extension while Mark Caguioa asked for a 2 year contract extension with Ginebra.
