Chris Lutz, Marcio Lassiter, and possibly Chris Tiu, Jayvee Casio and Dylan Ababou. They are the members of the Smart Gilas Pilipinas Team who are planning to join this year's PBA Draft. But among those 5 players above Lutz and Lassiter are the only ones who have passed their application forms for the draft. Tiu, Casio and Ababou are still thinking about joining the draft. But if ever they'll do join, Powerade will have more luxury to choose 2 players among those 5 Smart Gilas players in the draft because they are entitled to have the 2 top picks this year. And if ever they will win the lottery against Air 21, they will be able to get the number 1 draft pick.
The original plan of the Tigers is to get 2 Smart Gilas players in the first round of the draft and then get 1 big man in the second round. I read it in Snow Badua's Twitter account. He tweeted that:
"POWERADE GOV. JB BAYLON: We have 2 first round picks this year. Chances are we'll get 2 GILAS PLAYERS and 1 BIG MAN in the 2nd round."
Mr. JB Baylon was recently seen having a tea with Chris Tiu. He's probably talking with Chris about the upcoming draft, but sadly Tiu has not yet decided whether to go pro or whether to stay with Gilas. But if he'll join the draft he'll probably be picked by Powerade. I wasn't surprised that they want Tiu because he has the skills to go along with his charisma. He'll make a huge difference for the Tigers especially in the PBA where fame and popularity are of the essence.
