July 8, 2011— The Azkals will not have Stephen Shrock and Aly Boromeo in their 1st leg match against Kuwait on July 23. They are looking to get Chris Greatwich. Initially he was available but upon looking at his schedule it appeared that he'll not be able to play for his country because of prior commitments. He said that he accepted a coaching job and other football club commitments in the United States of America. Those were scheduled prior to the Azkals' invitation.

Chris Greatwich is a certified scorer. He scored two goals for the Azkals in the Suzuki Cup. He could have been a valuable asset for the Azkals especially that Shrock and Boromeo will be out. They really need a player like Chris when they clash against one of the top teams in the Middle East, Kuwait.

Chris Greatwich however said that he's not destroying any bridge, it's just his schedule that prevented him from playing for the Azkals. He said that he'll play for the team some other time if he's already free. Here's what he completely said:

“Please keep me in mind for future tournaments. I’m frustrated with missing so many games but I fully intend to join the squad as soon as possible.”
