Philippine Azkals Beats Vietnam In ASEAN Football Federation Suzuki Cup 2010 Jejomar Binay Delighted



The national football team of the Philippines known as the Azkals has successfully started their campaign in ASEAN Football Federation Suzuki Cup 2010 as they beat the former champions, Vietnam with the score of 2-0.

With the win, out vide-president, Jejomar Binay encouraged the Filipino athletes to focus of football. He assured the Filipinos that he will be an advocate of the sport and he will support it in the future.

The ASEAN Football Federation Suzuki Cup is the counterpart of the Fifa world cup of Europe.

The win over the former AFF champs, Vietnam would surely put the Philippines in the Football map. With our built and height I believe that it is the sport for us as what Darren Hartmann, an international football coach said.

The Philippine Azkals' win assured them a spot in the net round.

I can still remember during early 1900's, the Philippines used to be in the Football world circulation, and with this win over such a powerful team, I believe we'll soon re-enter that circulation.

The Azkals will face Myanmar in the semi-finals.
