Simon Atkins is Back Into His Usual Basketball Form

After having had struggled for the UAAP seasons 71 and 72 because of injuries such as his ankle injury and whiplash injury. Many have ridiculed his performance because it's far too different from his stellar performance in De la Salle Zobel Junior Archers wherein he won a championship against the Ateneo Blue Eaglets.

But as we all know hardwork and discipline and strong will always pay off and more often than not, it gives a positive effect to the one who exhibits them. And Simon Atkins showed that in their first game. He is aware of his weaknesses, specifically his shooting. With that in mind, every single practice day he was the first to enter the gym and he was the last to leave it. He shoots more than a hundred shots everyday. Perfecting his shooting form and thus perfecting his craft. He has the will of Kobe, he is willing to take the fire and keep its light and heat.

In De la Salle's opening game in the UAAP Season 73 against the UP Fighting Maroons, he managed to generate a dazzling shooting percentage. Shooting 7/8 from the three point area. And shooting 7/13 from the field he is definitely back in his basketball form. He had 20 points in the game. He is in the zone with 16 points all in the first half. It was his new career high. He also had 2 assists. He was named as the Jollibee Champ of the game in this game. They won over UP via 80-62.
