This 6'4 power forward out of the San Beda College Alabang High School basketball program and a member of the RP Youth training progams playing alongside the fast and cat quick pointguard LA Revilla was a blue chip recruit of Sandy Arespacochaga and Norman Black. It was known that they admired his footworks, wieght-lifting skill, his nimbleness, his mobility, his soft touch from the perimeter, his upper body strength, his tireless work ethic, his knack for winning and his passing skills from the baseline and from the post. He was recruited by the Ateneo De Manila University. He has played with the likes of Chris Tiu and Rabeh Al-Hussaini who are his idol. Someday he wants to play like Rabeh and it's highly probable since they both have great skills as bigmen. Rabeh and Nico both have great footworks and shooting in the perimeter. Rabeh has graduated and Nico has to fill in that spot. He is capable to do so as what coach Norman Black predicts even before he became an Ateneo De Manila Blue Eagle. By the way, I was told by my friend who was his classmate in high school that Nico Salva loves to sleep in the classroom but when the examination comes and the recitaion Nico always have great scores. There is no wonder that he became an Atenean because he is a well-rounded person. Go Ateneo! One Big Fight. Nico Salva loves to say that win or lose its the school we choose.
This hot shot is not only good on the court he is also a great person who loves to joke around and throw knock knock jokes. That is why he has managed to get the attention of pretty girls. Add to that his killer looks and beautiful smile whenever he gets high scores in the exam and in the games he has played. Just like LA Tenorio, an Atenean says "academics and basketball are inseperable. you cannot be great in basketball while not seeking first to be great in academics." This is a signature of an Atenean. Well, Nico Salva is one heck of a person and he has all the tools to steal one's heart. Beware girls!! By the way he is taken already.
