Adizero Rose 2.5 Out In Philippines On February 2, 2012: Price, Pictures, Other Details and More, Check It Out!

Last January 25, 2012, the Three Stripes shoe company a.k.a. Adidas, launched the newest shoes of Derrick Rose at the Moro Lorenzo Sports Complex inside the Ateneo de Manila University. As what I expected it to be, the Launch was star studded as the famous adidas endorsers were present at the event. Chris Tiu, Jeff Chan, Josh Urbiztondo and some of the adidas sponsored members of the Ateneo Blue Eagles were there.

The newest basketball shoes of D-Rose is called the Adizero Rose 2.5. It's the 4th official shoe of Derrick Rose, who by the way signed a contract extension with adidas worth millions of dollars. He will start using the shoes in the 2012 All Star Weekend in Orlando, Florida up to the end of the NBA 2011-2012 Season.

When I saw the shoes in actual, my first impression was that it kinda looks like a hybrid shoe wherein some of the features of the Adizero Rose 1.5, the Crazy Lights and the Adizero Rose 2.0 are present in the adizero Rose 2.5.

The toe of the adizero Rose 2.5 looks like the 1.5's. It has a leather-like toe box which is quite durable and stylish at the same time. The sprint web design in the middle upper part of the shoes resembles the feature of the adizero Rose 2.0 and then the thinner corrugated outer sole (for better grip on the hard court and for a lighter out-sole because it's thinner), the mid-cut design, and the lightness of the shoes came from the adidas Crazy Lights. Oh, by the way, just like the Crazy Lights, the adizero 2.5's price is also 6,995 pesos. Combine all of those nice features and the output would be the new Adizero Rose 2.5. Take a look....

I've worn a lot of basketball shoes and I must say that this new pair of shoes is one of the best in terms of comfort, lightness and foot stability.

Stability

Some of the basketball shoes that I've worn before kinda moves sideways when I cut straight to the basket, but this new shoe is far from the usual. It provided a great side to side movement stability and comfort when I slashed to the basket and when I jumped to get the ball. My ankles didn't feel any discomfort because of the durable plastic ankle support that the shoes has at its back part. The plastic has the adidas three stripes on it.

Comfort

It has the new Geo-fit memory Foam- a pillow like formation on each sides of the collars of the shoes for better support and comfort. The Foam serves as an ankle comforter when one moves. When you touch it, it's soft and flexible at the same time. Thus, it acts like a rubber padding. Much like a spandex. It expands and constricts when one moves on the basketball court.

Lightness

Weighing only 11.9 ounces, this shoe is also very light. And the reason behind its lightness are the sprint frame and the sprint web designs of the shoes. The sprint frame and sprint web provide better foot movement, better foot support and weight reduction.

Micoach Compatability

The Adizero Rose 2.5 has a built-in compartment underneath its inner soles for the Speed Cell Chip (The Green Colored Thing In The Picture Below) that is compatible with the Micoach Application- a downloadable app that can be used through PC's, iPhone, iTouch, and other android phones. Micoach is a virtual workout assistant that collects the 360 degree data movements of a player. It measures the average speed, the number of sprints, distance covered by a player, and his/her stride rates.

Price and Color-ways

The shoes' price is 6,995 pesos. It is available in 6 colors. Here are their corresponding release dates: Orange Colorway (For All Star Weekend in Orlando- The City of Orange Fruit): February 17, 2012; Year of the Dragon (Camouflage Color): January 23, 2012; Chicago Color (Home): February 2, 2012; Away Color: February 2, 2012 and the Dear Mama Color (Red Color): February 9, 2012. All of these colors will be available in all leading adidas stores nationwide such as in Trinoma, MOA, and in Greenbelt 3.

Playing Experience

Aside from getting the shoes for free, I also got the opportunity to play basketball with other media personalities. I enjoyed the game a lot because I was able to meet new friends from the media such as Slam Magazine, Abante, BTV, and other sports bloggers. On top of that, I felt really blessed because I was able to play with and under the watchful eyes of the legendary PBA Player, the Point Laureate Mr. Ronnie Magsanoc. His speed and his passing skills were still there. I wonder if the new shoes of D-Rose has something to do with that. *Smiling.

Overall, the experience of playing basketball using the adizero Rose 2.5 was really amazing!

In the 97-93 thrilling win of the Miami Heat against their Eastern Conference Rival Chicago Bulls, LeBron James had a big night. Well, he had to have a big night because the Heat were against the MVP, Derrick Rose. He and Rose had a showdown but in the end he got the upper hand as he tallied a double-double 35 points and 11 rebounds while Rose had 34 points and 6 rebounds to carry his team because Deng and Watson are out because of injury.

Even though Rose had a heroic night, James' monster dunk was the biggest play of all plays tonight as he received an alley hoop pass via a backdoor play and eventually finished it by dunking over the 5'11 John Lucas. That monstrous dunk ignited the crowd to a frenzy.

Dylan Ababou and Kerby Raymundo, two of the newest members of the arguably most famous team in the PBA, the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings gave their respective messages to the overwhelming fans of the Gin Kings. Kerby's message was short but with conviction whereas Dylan's quite comprehensive.

The fans have mixed emotions. They are sad because two of their favorite players, Tubid and Intal left their favorite team but at the same time they are excited because Dylan Ababou and Kerby Raymundo have come to help their team's cause next Conference and on-wards.

Jimmy Alapag once again proved that he is the biggest key if they ought to beat Powerade in less than 5 games in the PBA Season 37 Philippine Cup Finals as he delivered some important points for the Tropang Texters that ignited them to seize a 2-0 advantage in the series.

Thru Jimmy's efforts, the Talk n Text Tropang Texters are now leading 2 games to none in their Best of 7 Finals series against Powerade. They toppled the "underdog" Powerade Tigers and finished Game 2 with a final score of 102-96.

Alapag, indeed, closed the match as he dropped unstoppable successful treys that merited him the best player of the game largely because of his 23 points and 3 assists.

Powerade, who already have Casio on the floor, certainly, gave TNT a tough game by forcing 6 deadlocks in Game 2. However, they failed to snatch the lead in the more important 2nd half. Despite having produced a 16-5 run from Adducul and David that enabled them to a make the game closer, 94-93 in the 4th Quarter. But TnT continued burying successful buckets and responded with a 7-0 run that cemented game 2 for TNT.

The FEU Lady Tamaraws are still in the thick of the fight for a UAAP Season 74 Women's Volleyball Final Four slot after they defeated the seemingly overpowering UST Tigresses last Sunday at the Arena in San Juan. The match went the distance as FEU won the game via 4 sets: 23-25/25-20/25-23/ 25-23.

The Tams won this game largely because of Rosemarie Vargas' terrific performance as she had 27 points, 21 of which came from her successful attacks. The second reason why they won this game was that they showed a great floor defense against the attacks of UST's Maru Banaticla, Maika Ortiz and Judy Caballejo.

Ginebra Trade For PBA Season 37 2nd Conference 2012: To Get Kerby Raymundo? To Lose Tubid, Canaleta and Intal?

This is one of the biggest PBA trade news that I read in the news-feeds on my Facebook and in the Tweets on my Twitter yesterday. It was about a trade involving Ginebra (A Popular Ball Club), B-Meg (Favored Team because they are the LLAMADOS) and Barako Bull (Energizer Team) in preparation for next Conference's basketball wars.

Based on the updates that I got, I think that Kerby "The KID" Raymundo of B-Meg (From being a Kid to being a ROYALTY (A King), and Dylan Ababou of Barako Bull (Former UST Tiger) will go to Ginebra, The Barako Bull on the other hand will get Ronald Tubid (From The East(UE)) and KG Canaleta (From The East(UE)). The two will be re-energized. And finally, B-Meg will get JC "The Rocket" Intal and a future draft pick of the Gin Kings. He is the Rocket that will land on the Favored and the powerful Team, B-Meg.

But then again, this is just a trade proposal. If the Commissioner's Office will find this just and fair to all the parties involved, it will push through. If it's unfair, it will not be approved.

The Talk n Text Tropang Texters are still alive in the best of 7 semis of the PBA Season 37 Philippine Cup as they trounced the Petron Blaze Boosters, 111-108, in game 6.

The Tropang Texters seemed to have adjusted and they are looking good on the floor. They are threatening to go all the way in game 7. They are looking good in the sense that their leader, Jimmy Alapag, is slowly getting back to his usual good old form. He bounced back his signal as he made a big double-double 29 points and 10 assists to lead his team in winning the do-or-die game 6.

Here's what happened in game 6. They showed great persistence and willingness to win and in the final buzzer, they ended up as the winners. And they are looking to repeat that in the winner take all Game 7.

In game 6, although the Texters possessed the lead during the 1st half of the match, the Boosters were able to unlock the doors to snatch the lead from the Texters in the earlier parts of the 3rd quarter.

But TNT's instant scorers, Castro and De Ocampo managed to recover the lead to end the 3rd Q, 79-74.

The Texters continuously worked their way to victory as they fired shots to extend their lead, but again, Ildefonso, together with Cabagnot and Miranda, tried to put a stop on adding their deficit and tried to steal the lead during the last minute of the match. But they missed their attempts which lead to turnovers. So, the Texters found Alapag, without hesitation, who opened the game 7 hopes as he stretched their lead to 2 ball possession with only 17.2 secs on the game clock. That was the end of Game 6.

The Philippine Azkals has a new recruit. He is the Fil-German Dennis Santos Wolf. His mother is Filipina and his father is German. He recently played in the 2nd Bundesliga, particularly for the FC Magdeburg. He plays either the Forward or Right Winger positions.

Wolf is in the Philippines right now and he is already practicing with the Azkals at the Rizal Memorial Football Field. I just don't know if he will already play against the Icheon FC team.

The PBA Media Bureau Chief, Mr. Willie Marcial talked on the possible suspension of either Ali Peek or Alex Cabagnot, but he added that the sanctions will depend on how the two players will defend themselves....

To those who weren't able to watch Game 6 last Sunday, here's what happened. Alex gave a hard foul on the face of Ali Peek and then in return, Ali gave a hard foul on Alex's teammate Joseph Yoe. That's why they were being summoned by the PBA.

The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) will be signing a 4 year contract extension with ABS-CBN worth 300 Million Pesos. They still want ABS-CBN to air the games and other football related activities of the Philippine Azkals this year on-wards.

The president of the PFF, Mr. Mariano “Nonong” Araneta said that:

“They (ABS-CBN) had a better offer. TV5 also tabled an offer to the PFF but the Federation’s Board opted for ABS-CBN, which held the rights to Azkals matches starting last year during the AFC Challenge Cup."

Talk n Text Lives Another Day After They Beat Petron In Game 5 of The PBA Season 37 Philippine Cup Semis

The Talk n Text Tropang Texters is still alive in the semifinal series as they beat the Petron Blaze Boosters, 93-91 in game 5 of their best of 7 semis series.

During the early parts of the 1st half, Petron wielded a two-digit lead over the Texters courtesy of Chris Lutz and Joseph Yeo's explosive shots.

However, the Texters found their coverage area and cut their lead down to 5 via Jayson Castro, the man of the match who listed 23 points, 6 rebs. and 6 assists.

Due to Castro's dominating performance, the 2nd quarter ended with Petron only having a 5 point lead, 44-49.

Castro was still on fire in the third quarter and was assisted by de Ocampo to snatch the lead from Petron.

But Lutz, who made his new career high on this match, together with the veterans, Ildefonso and Santos, were able to regain the lead with 1:41 mins. left on the clock.

Alapag sank a big 3-point shot to answer the shot of Danny Ildefonso, which forced Petron to fire a forced basket.

Unfortunately, Cabagnot failed to repeat his winning shot which secured the Texters' 2nd win in the best of 7 series.

The Texters forced a game 6 on Sunday.

Powerade Tigers Beat Rain or Shine To Get A 3-2 Advantage in The PBA Season 37 Philippine Cup Best of 7 Semis

The Powerade Tigers trounced the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters with a concluding score of 110-108 for the 5th game of their best-of-7 semifinal series.

Jvee Casio listed 25 points and 3 assists to support Gary David in securing the very huge Win that gave them a 3-1 lead in the series.

Rain or Shine was just exchanging baskets with Powerade and was unable to stretch their lead into a two-digit figure.

Rain or Shine tried to widen their gap as they made a 17-6 run in the 4th Quarter that put the Tigers in the danger zone.

But David and Casio, who were still smoking on the court, answered the E-painters with their very own 7-0 run to slash their deficit to just one point in the last 36.6 seconds of the game clock.

That pressured the E-painters to shoot either an easy 3 point basket or an easy 2 point basket.

Being on the time pressure situation, E-painters finding the right tempo but they failed to sink a basket that led them to a turnover. Quiñahan tried to stop Lassiter in adding another score but he ended up fouling him to the basket.

Lassiter calmly dropped his 2 bonus free-throws that snatched a one point lead from the E-painters.

The E-painters were still under time pressure and due to that pressure, they incurred another turnover as Lassiter got the ball and Paul Lee attempted to steal back the ball but instead, he got a foul and placed Lassiter on the free-throw line once again.

However, Lassiter split his charities.

On the last 10.2 seconds, the E-painters tried to tie the game, but the Tigers put a tough defense which closed the game having a 2 point lead. They now have a 3-2 advantage in the semis and they will try to close out the series on Sunday.

According to one of Jeric Teng's Tweet, his brother, Jeron Teng, will be playing for the De La Salle University Green Archers in the UAAP Season 75 Basketball Wars.

I wasn't overly surprised when I heard that news because last year, Mr. Snow Badua also announced that Jeron chose to play for the DLSU Green Archers.

And also, I heard and read that the father of Jeron, Mr. Alvin Teng is a close friend of one of the Godfathers of the DLSU Basketball Program, Mr. Danding Cojuangco. That's probably one of the biggest factors why Jeron chose to play for La Salle.

And now, we can finally say that DLSU is now back in the blue chip recruiting process because they were able to catch a Big Fish in the form the 6'1 Xavier School Stallion Jeron Teng.

It's now up to the new coach of DLSU, Mr. Gee Abanilla, on how he will further hone the skills of Jeron so that he'll be able to become an effective player for the Taft based squad.

The apparent question now is, will Jeron Teng be as good as Kiefer Ravena?

Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic has broken the long standing number of NBA free throw attempts record in a single game that was built by Wilt Chamberlain. Wilt had 34 free throw attempts in their game against St. Louis in year 1962.

Dwight on the other hand shot 39 free throws. 7 more than Wilt's 32. He made 21 out of those 39 free throw attempts.

Dwight's 21/39 free throw shooting was quite impressive considering that it is his water-loo. No wonder he was able to carry his team into a win over the Golden State Warriors via 117-109. All in all, Dwight registered 45 points and 23 rebounds. That was another double-double performance for the Big Guy.

The Petron Blaze Boosters, once again, survived a breathtaking match against the Talk n Text Tropang Texters. The crowd erupted in the Big Dome as Danny Ildefonso once again turned back the hands of time and dominated the ball game and eventually led the Boosters to a 3-1 lead in the best of 7 semis series. The final score of the 4th game was 85-82. Thus, Petron will have a chance to wrap up the semis series tonight at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Danny Ildefonso, on his full tank performance, listed 22 points and 8 rebounds that helped and saved the Boosters against the Tropang Texters who were leading in the first up to the 3rd quarters of game 5.

Talk n Text takes the lead for three quarters and maintained an 8 point lead courtesy of de Ocampo, Dillinger and Ryan Reyes.

That was because throughout those 3 quarters, Petron was struggling as Arwind Santos gave his 3rd foul during the 1st half and still searching the key to open a deadlock opportunity led by Joseph Yeo, who fired crucial baskets to stop the Talk n Text in making a run.

Thankfully, Danny Ildefonso was able to help Yoe as he sank majority of his blazing shots in the shaded lane. Thru his efforts, Petron was able to get the lead during the early parts of the very crucial 4th Quarter.

While Texters tried to make a run, they were trapped during the last minute of the match as Ildefonso showed his veteran move under time pressure to lead the game with a point 83-82.
TnT failed to put another shot which gave the Petron another chance to stretch their lead, but Dillinger decided to gave a foul to Chris Lutz to forbid the Boosters to shoot another field goal. Lutz successfully sank his 2 bonus freethrows to increase his team's score that secured their 3rd victory in the series.

The Rain or Shine Elastopainters vanquished the Powerade Tigers with the final tally of 110-95 to tie the PBA Season 37 best-of-7 Philippine Cup semifinal series to 2-2.

The man of the match Paul Lee, who was dubbed as the young leader of the conference, listed 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists on his score sheet to make up for his unfavorable performance in the game 3 of the series.

Powerade showered their 3-point charities during the 1st half but Rain or Shine managed to maintain the lead to end the 1st half, 53-45.

Jeff Chan was able to show his spirit back on the game court as he sank 10 points in the 3rd quarter that widen the gap with the Tigers into a double-digit figure, 79-61.

However, the Tigers did not lose their spirit and still finding their right rhythm to equal the score with the E-painters. But the E-painters locked their doors as Chan continued to produce charities that ended the winning streak of the Tigers.

Although the Tigers lost the match, Gary David made his 6th 30-point game which could honor him the title "Best Player of the Conference".

The tied series will break on Friday for the game 5 of the series.

Omar Samhan. That's the name of the possible import of the Talk 'n Text Tropan Texters according to one of Sir. Noli Eala's Tweets.

Samhan is a 6'11 center who came out of St. Mary's. He went undrafted in the 2010 NBA Draft. Shortly after that, he decided to go overseas. His most recent playing stint was in the Euro League where he played for the Žalgiris Kaunas.

The biggest problem for Samhan is that he's a little bit inconsistent, but when he's in the zone, he's hard to stop. His biggest output throughout his entire college career was his 32 point performance against Villanova in one of their games.

The Alaska Aces are focusing on their running game in preparation for their PBA Season 37 Commissioner's Cup 2012 campaign. And in line with that, they will get an import who best fit their running game. And according to one of Mr. Noli Eala's Tweets, their import could be Matt Haryasz.

Matt is a lanky import who is fast despite being a 6'11 towering import who came out of the Stanford University Cardinals. After playing for the Cardinals, he opted to enter the 2006 NBA Draft, but he was drafted by any team. After that bad experience, he decided to play in the NBA D-League for one season. He then went overseas to play in the 2010-2011 Euro Cup.

In the Euro Cup he played only an average of 25 minutes per ball game for the Grolingen Team, but since he's athletic and he's fast, he was able to have good statistics. He averaged 11.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1 block per game. For me, he is an efficient player and he's a hard worker. For sure he'll be able to play well for the Alaska Aces.

According to one of Mr. Noli Eala's Tweets, Demarr Johnson is a candidate to be the import of the Barako Bull Energy Boosters.

According to what I read in the forums, Demarr is a great player who was first projected to be the next Scottie Pippen because they have the same height at 6'9 and skills wise they are very close. He is also known to be a good shooter. But his performance kinda slowed down when he met an accident. He was involved in a car accident that sidelined him for quite some time. But he managed to recuperate and get back to playing basketball. Since then he's been to China, Lebanon and Colombia to play overseas basketball. His latest destination could be the Philippines earlier this year for the PBA Season 37 Commissioner's Cup.

The man who shot Ali Peek on the neck last year has already been identified. His name is Edgar Vite, a native of Nueva Ecija.

The witnesses identified Vite as the person who shot Peek at the parking space of RFM Sports Center in Mandaluyong City last last November 7, 2011 when the police officers showed to them the artist sketch of the suspect.

With that strong proof in hand, Vite has been charged of frustrated murder. It has been filed at the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor’s Office. The Mandaluyong police officers are now waiting for the warrant of arrest so that they can validly arrest Vite.

But upon his impending arrest, a new problem arose. The police are now saying that Vite is a hired killer and that there is a big person behind the Ali Peek shooting incident. There might be a bigger motive in the shooting incident.

The Rain or Shine Elastopainters painted their first victory in the PBA Season 37 Philippine Cup Semi-finals best of 7 series against the Powerade Tigers via 114-95.

Paul Lee marked 25 points in his score sheet to keep his team alive in the ball game and eventually steal game 1 in the end. His poise in scoring and his teammates' gritty pressure defense were they keys why they were able to stop the three point shooting of the Tigers and beat them.

During the first half, the Powerade Tigers, who played good music together, were able to make a big run that draw a big gap with the E-painters as Gary "El Granada" David and Josh Vanladingham fired hot 3-point shots that made the E-painters suffer for a big 11 point deficit to end the 1st half, 43-54.

But the E-painters changed the flow of the story of the game in the 2nd half as they managed to produce a 15-3 run that cut their deficit down to 2 points, 57-59. However, the Tigers were able to stop their run momentarily.

But again, the E-painters started to show their winning spirit and resiliency as they produce another 21-9 run during the halfway mark of the final quarter that made the Tigers struggle for a deadlock opportunity as Rudy Lingganay sank his back-to-back easy baskets but Paul Lee, Beau Belga and Jeff Chan shut the doors to the Tigers from their 3/3 3-point shooting.

The whole story of this game boils down to the two teams fighting fire with fire, great outside shooting against great outside shooting. But ROS was the one who got more firepower as El Granada Gary David did not explode in the 4th quarter.

During this kid's senior year in James Madison University he averaged 17.6 points, 8.8 rebounds 2.2 assists, 1.6 block, and 0.6 steal per game.

The Ginebra Team management will invest on sending Coach Siot Tanquincen to the United States so that he will be able to scout some of their import prospects for the upcoming PBA Season 37 Commissioner's Cup.

Mr. Noli Eala Tweeted that Coach Siot will be flying to the United States on January 9, 2012 to attend the NBA D-League Showcase. He will watch some of their import prospects in the said event.

If that is the case, I feel sorry for Chris Alexander (the arguably People's Choice to be Ginebra's import) because Ginebra won't invest for a cross country scouting trip if they are already okay with Chris. But still, that's just my idea. Things may still change in the next few days.

Let's just wait until January 11, 2012 when Ginebra resumes their training. For sure we'll see who their import is on that day.

The game was close right from the start, but the Hawks' newest acquisition, the former 2 time NBA scoring champion and the 7 time NBA All-Star stepped his game up to deliver the killer blows that knocked down Miami 100-92. He had 16 points all in all 13 of those came in the 2nd half. The Hawks are more complete with him around. He is an instant scorer like Jamal Crawford and his all-star aura coupled with the likes of Josh Smith and Al Horford could be the exact boost the Hawks need in order for them to compete well and beat some big time teams like Miami. Who would have thought that the lazy eyed Tracy McGrady would rise once again after suffering several injuries that negatively affected his career. Those injuries left him unwanted, always on the trade block and they prompted the teams to offer him short contracts That's very disappointing considering that he's a 7 time NBA All Star and a former 2 time scoring champion. Aside from that, he's also a player full of history. Remember the 13 points in 35 seconds that he made against the highly favored San Antonio Spurs? Ohh, those where the days.... No one has topped that.

I kinda thought that he will never be the same good old explosive player that I idolized way back when I was in High School and that his career will just end on a low note full of disappointments and frustrations.... But hey, I guess miracles do happen! After his short playing contracts with New York and Detroit, T-Mac is now back! Gotta love the guy!! (No homo)

He's in the perfect position right now to rejuvenate his veins while playing the second stringer role. He is in the city of Apple Pies, Atlanta Georgia. He is filling in the space that was left by the New York Native and the instant offensive player, Jamal Crawford who signed with the Blazers.

Right now, T-Mac is playing great and that he's drawing some comparisons with the other latest stars and scorers of the NBA. Some fans are saying that he's finally back and that he's moving like Kevin Durant when he attacks the rim while others are saying that he's off the chain and that he's more attuned with his body and that he looks fit to be an all star again. Well, I believe that they are RIGHT.... I can't doubt that he looks better and that he looks nastier than ever.

First, he scored 12 points against the Nets, then he had 11 points against the Bobcats and earlier today he had 16 points for the Hawks as they beat the unbeaten Miami Heat, 100-92. He's a heavy contributor in the Hawks' 4-1 start in this NBA 2011-2012 Season. He's getting better and better as the season progresses.

Mr. Stephan Shrock, the German Football sensation and a proud member of the Philippine Azkals was voted as the InterAKTV Awards Breakthrough Athlete of the Year.

Shrock's position is right back, but he also plays right wing in his club, Greuther Furth in Germany.

When you look at his performance for the Azkals, you can't help but to nod and say, "Yeah he deserves the award. No wonder he was hailed as the Athlete of the year."

He debuted for the Azkals vs. Sri Lanka, in the 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers. He didn't score, but he dominated the possession of the ball. His aggressive and persistence in making advance outlet kicks to James, Chieffy and Phil led to several goal opportunities for the Azkals. His tenacity and strong will to score a goal impressed the millions of Filipino Fans around the world.

Though the result of the first leg match between the Azkals and Sri Lanka was a draw, the Philippines still advanced to the 2nd round of the qualifiers because of their big win in th 2nd leg. They won against Sri Lanka, 4-0, but stephan recieved a total of 2 yellow cards, one from the first leg and one from the 2nd leg. But still, Shrock was a big part of that win. He was able to cement his name as one of the great players of the Azkals because of his fine performance in the 2nd leg or home leg against Sri Lanka.

Stephan is an example of a true Filipino athlete because he plays with his heart and he thinks of his fellow countrymen and the die hard supporters of the Philippine Azkals. For sure, he will be a vital part of the team in the years to come.

Yi Jianlian To Play For The Dallas Mavericks in NBA 2011-2012 Season: A Perfect Back-Up For Dirk Nowitzki?

After acquiring Wang Zhi-Zhi - the first ever Chinese Basketball Player to play in the NBA, in the 2002, the Dallas Mavericks are once again seeking the help of a Chinese Ball Player. This time they are looking to get the 7 footer go-to-guy of China's Men Basketball Team, Yi Jian Liang. ESPN mentioned that Dallas might sign the versatile forward to a 1 year contract deal.

Yi is a 4 year NBA veteran. He has played for 3 different NBA Teams namely the Washington Wizards, the New Jersey Nets and the Milwaukee Bucks.

For me, I believe that he is an efficient player because he only averaged 24 minutes of playing time in those 3 teams above, yet he was able to notch good statistical numbers and high scoring percentages. He averaged 8.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in majority of his playing stint in the NBA.

Aside from his invaluable NBA experience, he also showed tremendous upside and potential to lead a team in the recently concluded FIBA Asia Championship 2011 wherein he propelled the Chinese Men's National Team to a gold medal finish against Jordan National Team. He had a double-double performance in the championship game as he scored 25 points, 6 blocks and 16 rebounds.

All throughout the FIBA Asia he showed a consistent excellent performance against the Top Asian Basketball Squads such as Iran, Jordan, South Korea and Philippines. As a result, he was named as the League's MVP, besting the mammoth Hamed Hadaddi of Iran.

As what I can foresee, Yi will serve as a back-up for the aging Dirk Nowitzki for the rest of the 2011-2012 NBA Season. I believe that Mark Cuban made a great decision in acquiring Yi because he is a perfect back-up for Dirk as he can also shoot outside shots and drive strong to the hoop.

And also, if Yi will be able to translate his dominating performance in the FIBA Asia 2011, wherein he grabbed plenty of rebounds, blocked several shots while scoring in bunches, he can be an instant inside threat for Dallas. A mini Tyson Chandler if ever. I just hope that he'll have a smooth start for the Mavs.

The Internacional de Madrid (IDM) Football Team is preparing hard for their charity game against the Philippine Azkals on January 7, 2012 for the victims of Typhoon Sendong. And, a big part of their preparation is the scouting process.

As early as now they've determined that Chieffy Caligdong, the Philippine Azkals' Winger is one of the biggest threats that they need to stop if they want to win in the charity match.

Rain or Shine Elastopainters (ROS) ousted the Brgy. Ginebra Kings via 106-91 last night as they won their 2nd consecutive game of the best-of-3 quarterfinals series. They took the Semifinal seat last night at Ynares Center in Antipolo and eventually booked a best of 7 semis series against Powerade.

The Rain or Shine E-painters reigned supreme in the whole first half of the game as they maintained their 20 point lead using their blasting fast break runs which made Ginebra appear like an underdog in the game til the 1st half ended. The score at the end of the 1st half was 58-37 in favor of Rain or Shine.

The Brgy.Ginebra Kings, showing their "Never Say Die" spirit, were able to slash their deficit in the 3rd quarter down to just 10 points courtesy of Mark "The Spark" Caguioa who sank 7 consecutive points for Ginebra.

As Ginebra already found their rhythm, ROS was alarmed and thus they implemented their tough defense which resulted to ticky-tacky fouls being called by the referees. ROS' defense enabled them to get back to the driver seat and dominate in the last quarter of the game as Jeff Chan, the best player of the match finished with 22 points, and Matias blasted continuous easy baskets that widen their advantage with the Kings that painted their team's name on the next round match list.

ROShine Elastopainters will face the miraculous Powerade Tigers for the semifinals match next year.

Spain claims for the fourth time in a row, the Team of the Year award. Although, Spain lost to 2 big teams, Italy and England, they were able to earn big points with their friendly matches wins. Spain managed to stay on top, followed by the Netherlands, Germany and Uruguay, who are all still competing in an exciting head-to-head battle for second place in the Team of the Year award. Spain's rise to supremacy is not so surprising for all football fans, but certainly, Spain shocked the world of football.

The titleBest Mover of the Year is claimed by Wales, with 330 points, they ranked 48th in the world and up by 2 points this December 2011. They won the most points in 2011. They are back again on the top 50 due to their outstanding performance this year, with wins over Montenegro, Switzerland and Bulgaria in the prestigious Euro 12 Qualifiers.

In AFC, Vietnam rose up by 35 places, which means they are now ranked 99th in the world, and also they claimed the AFC Best Mover of the Year.

The Philippine Azkals, meanwhile, is still on 159th place in world and 29th in the AFC. The king of ASEAN Football, Thailand, just managed 10 points after their downfall last month (122th and 18th this year ). UAE, on the other hand, one of the powerhouse teams of AFC and in the Middle East, has experienced their downfall since last October, and for this month, they have dropped 10 points (130th and 19th today). After the sorry loss and eventual elimination of the Ginebra Gin Kings last night against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in their best of 3 quarterfinals series, JJ Helterbrand was seen to have immediately left the venue with still a few ticks remaining on the game clock. He looked very sad and dejected when he moved away from the bench of Ginebra heading to the exit.

His action last night could be a strong indication that he has lost all his interest in prolonging his stay with the Gin Kings. But apparently, he is not yet sure if he will already leave the camp of the Kings for a possible retirement. That's according to his Facebook message addressed to his fans and to the Die Hard supporters of Ginebra.

Neil Etheridge Is Making Philippine Football Famous While Playing For Fulham FC

Neil has already had his debut game for Fulham. He took the position of Fulham's first goalie, Mark Schwarzer, who was injured.

Neil made some key saves against Odense enabling Fulham to get a 2-0 advantage, but Odense made a furious comeback in the 2nd half to tie the score at 2-2 and eventually forced a draw....

"The Philippines is slowly being noticed by the international football fans" according to Neil Etheridge when he was asked about his playing debut with Fulham FC a few days ago in his post game interview.

He said in the interview that:

"It's not just a personal achievement, it has really put the Philippines on the map. I watched some of the highlights, and they were talking about the Philippines a lot, and things like that in the build-up."

Neil also added that:

"It was great to make people aware that the Philippines has a football team and I'm a part of it. I'm happy and throughout my career, I'm going to take Filipino football forward. I want to take the national team with me. I think the more I progress, the more the team will progress and I'm sure other players will come in and fill the gap in the same way. Hopefully, I can be one of many playing in the Premiership or in other leagues in the world."

Wow! We really have an instant Philippine Football ambassador in the person of our very own Philippine Azkal Goalie, Neil Etheridge.

Powerade Tigers The Newest Never Say Die Team In The PBA Season 37: Thanks To Coach Bo Perasol

The vision mission of Coach Bo Perasol for his Powerade Team is slowly taking its form as the Powerade Tigers are slowly learning the value of the so called Never Say Die Attitude after they rose from the impending defeat against the highly favored B-Meg Llamados in the 4th quarter and ended up being victorious in that do or die game last Sunday.

The Tigers' collective effort was a strong statement of how badly they want to advance in the PBA Season 37 Philippine Cup 2011 Semi-Finals. They showed that just like the other more famous PBA Teams such as the Ginebra Gin Kings, the Petron Blaze Boosters, the Talk 'n Text Tropang Texters and the B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados, they have the heart of gold and more importantly, they now have the elixir of successful basketball teams- The Never Say Die Attitude.

As a strong testament on the Powerade Tigers' realization that they now have a Never Say Die Attitude (which is one of the must have attitudes of a successful PBA team) they were able to beat the top seeded team in the PBA Playoffs, the B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados.

The Tigers' Never Say Die Attitude was shown when they defeated the Llamados via a come from behind fashion. I saw that they really wanted to win and advance to the Semis. Imagine, they were trailing behind the Llamados from the 1st quarter up to the 4th quarter based on these scoring per quarters: 23-30, 47-57, and 78-87. They were about to succumb to defeat and give up, but coach Bo Perasol, JV Casio, Gary David and the rest of the Tigers shrugged off their fears.

They rose to the challenge and thus, they were able to tie the score at 115-115 all at the end of regulation and eventually force an Overtime.

In the Overtime, Gary David took over the ball game because Casio already fouled out. He was virtually unstoppable in the OT notching 37 big points for the Tigers. The Llamados can't stop him and thus, the tables were turned in favor of the Tigers. The Tigers just rode on the crest of their Never Say Die Spirit to upset the seemingly invincible Llamados via 131-123.

Thus, the Never Say Die Spirit is now also in the Powerade Tigers. Thanks To the persistence and dedication of Coach Bo Perasol.

That's probably the only thing that was in the mind of El Granada, Gary David last Sunday wherein he led the Powerade Tigers in upsetting the highly favored top seeded B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados via 131-123. Gary "Mr. Pure Energy" David notched 37 Big Points in that game to carry his team over the Llamados. He showed fortitude and courage against the supposed to be Gigantic Llamados.

The game had a cardiac finish but a player in the person of Gary David took the lime light away from the other stars in that game such as James Yap and Kerby Raymundo. He was able to seize the moment and finally cement his name alongside the more famous and more big time players of the PBA. He has finally gotten what is due for him.

Anthony Hargrove FEU's New Big Man For UAAP Basketball: Better Than Noundou and Sentcheu?

The FEU Tamaraws took a beating inside the shaded lane against the taller and bigger big men of the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the recently concluded UAAP Season 74 Men's Basketball Finals. They were out-rebounded and were over powered by the more powerful and more athletic big men of the Blue Eagles.

That's probably the reason why the Tamaraws acquired another big man who is athletic and who can compete with the best of them inside the shaded lane. That new big man's name is Anthony Hargrove. Check out his profile.

Unlike the other big men of FEU such as Pippo Noundou and Christian Sentcheu, Anthony Hargrove can defend well and can score at will. He has nice footwork in the paint, he jumps high, he can dunk at will, he is a great shot blocker, he is a hard worker and more importantly he can defend well around the rim. He is also quick and agile despite his long frame. That's why I believe that this guy can really mix it up against the other big men of the UAAP when he becomes eligible to play for the Tamaraws.

Talk n Text clinched the first semis spot after they walloped the 8th seeded Barako Bull Energy, 81-79, for the 1st day match of PBA season 37's quarterfinal round last Wednesday.

Jason Castro, on his fully loaded performance, garnered his new career high 32 points, gave his team an early rest and an enough time to prepare for the Semifinals. They will wait the winner between Petron and Meralco in their best of 3 series which will start today (Friday).

During the first half of this game, Barako Bull slowed the ball game down, resulting to TNT being unable to utilize their offensive fast breaking plays.

The Barakos on the other hand were just firing from the outside, resulting to a two-digit deficit for TNT.

TNT was having a hard time in shooting their free throw charities, suffered a big 16 point deficit. But, Jayson Castro with Kelly Williams blasted 3 point shots from here to there which slashed their deficit and managed to get the lead over the Barakos.

But Willie Miller, with 23.4 mins on the game clock, fired crucial two point baskets to tie the score. But Jayson Castro, performed his signiture Derrick Rose under goal lay-up move, erased the Barako Bull on the Semis team list. That was a tough shot but his ingenuity and resiliency got the ball pass from the long arms of Dylan Ababou. The Barakos should've implanted a help side defense during that one on one play. That mistake caused them the very precious game.

The plan of the owner of the Minnesota Timber-wolves, Mr. Glen Taylor, to bring in Ricky Rubio to Minnesota will now be put to test as the young phenom will be having his debut year in the NBA. He will complete the very young BIG 3 or even a BIG 4 of the Timber-wolves.

We've seen how good Kevin Love is, as he is a triple double machine. We also know how good Michael Beasely is when he's feeling good. He can score in bunches. They also have Derrick Williams. We saw how good he is when he flew here in Manila to play against our very own Smart Gilas Pilipinas Team. Sum their performance up and for sure you'll be impressed.

If those group of guys above can already form a formidable squad, what more if Ricky Rubio is already in the mix. He's also a good player and he can facilitate the offense of the Timber-wolves well if he's given the chance.

The Rain or Shine E-Painters painted their 9th win of the conference as they thrashed the Alaska Aces, 91-85, for the 1st game of the last elimination round of PBA Season 37 yesterday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Alaska Aces managed to give the E-painters a tough match as the Aces were able to tie the scores almost 7 times until the 3rd quarter.

Cyrus Baguio and Ervin Sotto anchored the Aces' run in the 1st half which made the E-painters struggle to defend the Aces.

But suddenly, the Paul Lee less E-painters blasted in the 4th quarter and blew their score ahead the Aces leading to their biggest lead which stood at 10 points.

Their lead was sustained by Uyloan as he jacked up back-to-back 3 pointers.

Aces bid their farewell as they ended in the 8th place while ROS will face the scary Ginebra Gin Kings in quarterfinals.

Ginebra survived and secured their winning streak as they beat the top ranked team, the Talk n Text Tropang Texters via 96-82, yesterday for the final match of the PBA 37th Season's elimination round.

Mike Cortez, who played like he was still playing for the DLSU Green Archers, accumulated 17 points and 4 assists that crowned him his 3rd best player of the game title in this Conference.

During the 1st half, the Kings were able to get the score close with the Texters. The Texters were fully loaded as they perform a 21-8 run in the 2nd quarter that enabled them to have a 4 point lead, 45-41, at the end of the 1st half.

But, the Kings put a stop to the momentum of TNT in the 2nd Half as they had their own run. It enabled them to get the lead as Cortez and Villanueva banked their charities. Cortez had a nice game and his stellar performance enabled them to increase BGK's lead to a two-digit mark which made the Texters struggle to surmount.

Unfortunately, on the last 2 minute mark of the 4th Quarter, the Texters lost their signal and were already out of coverage area, suffering a 14 point deficit against BGK. Eventually they lost the game.

This loss of TNT placed them to 2nd place.

Although Talk n Text lost in this game, they still have a twice-to-beat advantage and will face the Barako Bull, who have a twice-to-beat disadvantage in the Quarterfinals. While Ginebra will face the ROS Elasto Painters s for a best-of-three match in the quarterfinals.

Brandon Roy Retires Because of Knee Injury, Leaves Portland Go-to-Guy Less

From the time that Brandon Roy arrive in Portland, he has been an inspiration to the thousands of fans of the Trail Blazers. He revived the City back to its Golden Age just like when the legends like Clyde Drexler, Bill Walton and Maurice Lucas were still playing for Portland.

But sadly, B-Roy has announced yesterday that he will already retire because of his debilitating knee injury.

Roy Tried to make a comeback for Portland last season after undergoing six surgeries. That's a testament on how bad he wants to play the sport that he loves.

When Roy came back to play last season, he was able to carry the hapless Blazers to a win over some of the over powering teams in the NBA including the reigning NBA Champs, the Dallas Mavericks. I can still remember what Roy did in one of their games against Dallas in the Playoffs. He registered 18 points in that game which was highlighted by his 8/10 field goal shooting in the 4th quarter en route to leading the Blazers to a win against the highly favored Mavericks.

Roy was said to also be a steal in the NBA Draft 2006. And it appeared to be true indeed as in just 5 years of playing, he was able to make a collection of memorable plays that will last in eternity. Including a game winning shot against the Rockets with .8 of a second remaining in the 4th quarter.

Roy may have already retired from playing, but he surely has/had a great NBA career that he can share to his grand children someday.

Chris Paul Trade To Lakers Did Not Happen Because Cavs Owner Is Against It: Is He Against Imperialism?

The Team Owner of the Cleveland is acting like he is against the growing imperialism (forming strong teams with at least 3 Superstars) in the NBA wherein as his former player LeBron James left them helpless last year to join the Miami Heat and form a formidable Big 3 in the NBA. He was probably traumatized by what happened to his team that's why yesterday, he acted against the proposed Chris Paul Trade.

Reports have it that Mr. Dan Gilbert, the owner of the Cavaliers' egged Mr. David Stern, the NBA Commissioner to disapprove the trade. Mr. Gilbert labeled the proposed trade a "Travesty", meaning, he deemed it to be unreasonable.

I feel sad for Chris Paul because he deserves to get a ring. He has served the New Orleans Hornets with all his 5'11 might and he did well with them despite having not so good teammates. I really feel that when he becomes a Laker, his chances of getting that much deserved championship ring will be higher. But, sadly his trade was not approved.

I don't see the proposed CP3 trade unreasonable. For one it is well balanced meaning, the teams that are involved will get the players that they need. The Hornets will get more big men who can help the ailing David West. Oh, I forgot, David West is now a free agent thus, the really need more big men. Again, I feel bad for the Hornets because the trade didn't happen.

In the proposed trade of Chris Paul, the Lakers will get him and then since it's a 3 team trade, Houston will get Pau Gasol and the Hornets will get Lamar Odom, Luis Scola, Kevin Martin and a 2012 First Round Pick.

Pacquiao-Mayweather Fight To Happen On October 2012? We Can't Wait For The Fight of The Century!

The projected to be the Fight of The Century between Manny "Pac-Man" Pacquiao and Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. may already happen next year. But the fans will have to wait for at least 10 months because the fight may fall on the month of October 2012.

According to another online article, Bob Arum is not rushing things in staging the match awaited fight between the two great fighters. In fact Arum said in the Examiner that:

"If it ever happens, it could happen in the latter part of 2012. It doesn’t necessarily have to be May 5th."

Wakee Salud, one of Manny Pacquiao’s personal advisers, seconded the statement of Bob Arum, he said that:

"It (The Pacquiao-Mayweather Fight) could happen in October."

The reason behind Arum's decision to schedule the Pacquiao-Mayweather Fight in October is said to be the poor physical condition of Manny who had just fought Juan Manuel Marquez. He further said that:

Despite the poor showing of the Philippine Azkals in their past tournaments such as the Long Teng Cup 2011 and the SEA Games 2011 including their most recent exhibition match against the LA Galaxy wherein they lost via 1-6, their coach Michael Weiss will still remain as their head coach. That's according to Snow Badua's Tweet below. It was even confirmed by Mr. Dan Palami, the manager of the Philippine Azkals.

Thus, for now it's safe to say that at least, up to March 2012, we can be sure that Coach Weiss will still be the leader of the Philippine Azkals in the AFC Challenge Cup.

Rome Dela Rosa and Calvin Abueva were the main players who were involved in the said brawl.

The Blue Eagles will have another reason to smile as the Semerad Brothers (Former San Beda Men's Basketball Team Members), namely Dave and Anthony are now sure to transfer to the Ateneo De Manila University. That's according to my source.

My Source is very close to the Twins in fact they are neighbors.

You can call my source as the soon to be Significant Other or perhaps she's just a plain friend of one of the Twins , but what's important now is that she told me that the Twins are now sure to transfer to the Ateneo De Manila University.

I am not sure if they will be allowed to play at once for the Blue and White or whether they will undergo 1 year residency, but one thing is for sure, they will wear the Blue and White Jerseys of the Ateneo Blue Eagles anytime soon.

Ginebra Defeat Meralco Bolts To Fortify Their Quarterfinal Spot In PBA Season 37

The Ginebra Gin Kings shut down the Meralco Bolts as they beat them yesterday with the final score of 81-71.

Ginebra Kings banned Meralco from stealing the lead from them while the Bolts were desperately trying to steal the lead from them.

Having almost a two-digit deficit, the Meralco Bolts, with confidence, got close with the Kings in several instances as Cardona and Mercado were firing crucial shots in order to make a run and to break the Kings' momentum.

In spite of that, the Kings remained composed and in turn they were the ones who destroyed the
Bolts' momentum by forcing them to commit key turn-overs and by forcing them to give crucial fouls.

During the last 5 mins. of the final quarter, partners-in-crime Villanueva and Cortez with Caguioa provided a 12-2 run that increased their lead to 13 points which is already virtually unreachable for the Bolts to overcome.

In the end, Ginebra got the win.

B-Meg Defeats Barako Bull In A Thrilling Saturday Showdown In PBA Season 37

The B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados got their 7th straight win against the veteran team, Barako Bull via a whisker 1 point lead, 91-90 yester in PBA Season 37 Saturday Showdown.

Mark Barroca, who shot the ball with full confidence in front of the more veteran defenders of the Barako Bulls, earned 18 points and 3 rebounds for this match. His pretty performance enabled him to get the best player of the game award.

The Barakos almost got drowned as they were struggling to score on the offensive end in the first 3 quarters of the match while B-Meg's prized rookie, Andy Mark Barroca paraded a perfect field goal percentage in the first 3 quarters. Barroca's great shooting stretched their lead to a two-digit mark.

But Danny Siegle found his touch in the paint as he put a 15-4 run with 6 mins. remaining on the clock that slashed their two-digit deficit down to 1 point.

The final minute of the match became crucial for both teams. Fouls were called for the Llamados to prevent the Bulls to sink another basket. Yet, Willie Miller was unstoppable and he succesfully put his easy 2-points that made them possess a 1-point lead that forced the Llamados to call a time-out.

As the last shot clock time running for the Llamados, Barroca, with his breathtaking shot, successfully sank another 2 pointer that pressured the Bulls to score in the late game, but in the end they failed. Thus, B-Meg won by a whisker.

Coach Roger Gorayeb of San Sebastian Interview In GMA 7: Talked About San Beda Brawl

After the grim incident that happened inside the San Beda College Gym last Friday, Coach Roger Gorayeb of the the San Sebastian Lady Stags Women's Volleyball Team appeared in a news show in GMA 7 to air his side on what happened in San Beda.

Looking at the face of Coach Roger on the video below, I saw that he suffered a swollen left eye and a broken tooth.

Ginebra Defeat The Tough Petron Boosters To Solidify Playoff Spot In PBA Season 37 Playoffs

The Ginebra Gin Kings halted the Petron Blaze Booster's winning streak yesterday via 91-89, in the 2nd game of the PBA Season 37 Friday Edition at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Mark Caguioa led his team as he recorded his big 22 points and 6 rebounds in this all important game that cemented their place in the Philippine Cup's Playoffs.

Meanwhile, Petron struggled in searching their range that's why the Gin Kings retained the lead for the whole duration of the match, from the first up to the 4th quarter.

Ronald Tubid's 4/4 shooting from the 3-point line and 2/2 from the 2-point area expanded their lead to 6 points, 71-65 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.

But Petron did not gave their hopes up as they made a 13-4 run with only 2:36 mins. remaining in the 4th Quarter. That increased the tension of the Ginebra Gin Kings.

But Mark Caguioa, the ever reliable Superstar of Ginebra showed his prescence as he successfully fired his crucial long 2 pointers that expanded their lead to 3 points. However, Alex Cabagnot didn't give up. He carried Petron on his back using his 3-pointerss that locked the score at 89 all.

Willie Wilson broke the tie to fend off a possible Overtime game and successfully sank his 2-points plus a foul with still 5.5 sec. remaining on the game.

Unfortunately, coach Ato gave Danny Ildefonso the last shot of the game, but he failed to put it in the basket. Thus, they are now tied with the Texters in the team standings.

After the incident that happened inside the San Beda Colleg Gym, Coach Roger Gorayeb, the Head Coach of the San Sebastian Lady Stags Women's Volleyball Team gave his official statement on what happened.

"Nag wawarm up yung San Sebastian Men's Volleyball Team. Tapos akala ng San Beda Red Lions, inaasar sila. Habang Nag wawarm up yung Men's Volleyball namin sumisigaw ng chant na ho-hey-ho-hey. Ngayon, nagalit daw yung isang player ng San Beda kasi akala sinigawan siya na unggoy. Hindi naman unggoy yun eh. Lahat ng VOLLEYBALL team tanungin mo normal yung ho-hey chant.

Tapos, habang naglalaro ang ladies team ko at ALTAS, may lumapit sa akin, pinalilibutan daw ng RED LIONS ung MEN's VBALL team namin sa labas. So lumabas ako. Nakita ko nga nagkaka-initan. San Sebastian Lady Stags and Coach Roger Gorayeb Beat Off By San Beda Red Lions Basketball Team: Read What Happened

The San Sebastian Lady Stags Women's Volleyball Team together with their Head Coach Mr. Roger Gorayeb went to the San Beda Gym to face the Perpetual Help Lady Altas.

The game started out well with the Lady Altas up by two sets against the Lady Stags, ‎25-10 and 25-18. But in the 3rd set, an unforeseen incident happened. A scuffle or let's just say, a brawl (even if it sounds quite awkward because it was reportedly between the Lady Stags Volleyball Team and the Red Lions Basketball Team) happened.

In the brawl, 2 people from the side of the Lady Stags suffered injuries. They were coach Roger Gorayeb and Mae Crisostomo. While for the Red Lions none was reportedly beaten.

Coach Roger is now in the Police Station to report what exactly happened.

For you to have a wider picture on what happened, here are some of the fresh information that I got from different sources.

Also, read the comments below so that you'll be able to hear the side of San Beda. I don't know who started the fight, but the main concern here is that someone suffered an injury. Let's just wait how the whole story unfolds later on.

Apparently, SSC-R Coach was reported to have said a harsh word to one of San Beda's player, Ola Adeogun. Could that be the reason behind the brawl?

David Beckham Scoreless Against Indonesia Yesterday: He Started Asian Tour 2011 On A Bad Note, Does This Mean The Azkals Can Beat The LA Galaxy?

Despite their 1-0 win against the very tough Indonesian Football Team last night, the LA Galaxy Team was not that happy because they didn't play to their fullest potential against the Indonesians.

It's probably a case of yeah, you won the match but you don't feel victorious because the crowd that you wanted to please prior to the match were not pleased because the player that they wanted to watch and that was Mr. David Beckham, didn't play well.

David was not able to score and he made two bad tackles that made the Indonesian Crowd angry. Good thing Robbie Keane stepped up for the LA Galaxy. He made the first and lone goal of the match at the 13' mark of the first half. That goal enabled LA Galaxy to win the match as the Indonesians only defended well but they were not able to chalk up a goal throughout the course of the match.

David Beckham's bad performance in this match increased the fans' frustration. In the picture above you'll see one of David's bad plays in the match. He tackled an Indonesian to the ground.

After the game, in fact, even in the latter part of the match, the Indonesian fans in the crowd were booing David Beckham due to his poor performance on the field. They didn't probably expect that David will do such bad plays.

To give you a more detailed information on what David did that led to the booing of the crowd, he tackled unfairly the 2 Indonesian players on the field in their match last night. Due to those tackles, he was sent off in 87th minute of the match. Good thing he was not given a red card, substitution.

Behind those bad signs for the LA Galaxy, I can see and feel that the Azkals will have a better chance in beating the LA Galaxy especially now that David is not doing well. His poor performance might be translated into their game against the Philippine Azkals on December 3, 2011, Saturday.

But don't count LA Galaxy out just yet, since David Beckham is a certified professional football player, he can resurrect himself from that poor performance. I just hope that the Azkals can match his intensity because for sure he will come out strong after his poor performance against Indonesia.

Some say that LA Galaxy didn't play well in this game but for me, Indonesia just played hard against David Beckham and against his teammates. The Indons had several tackles in this match. The match ended with the score 1-0 in favor of LA Galaxy courtesy of Robbie Keane's beautiful goal.

Chris Paul Going To Boston Celtics? CP3: My Heart Belongs To?

The NBA Trade Rumors are getting more interesting as it now involves two of the best point guards in the NBA- Hornets' Chris Paul and Celtics' Rajon Rondo. In the trade rumor, it is said that the Boston Celtics are more than willing to trade Rajon Rondo and an additional big man just to get Chris Paul.

Majority of the Celtics' fans feel good about the rumored trade based on their online argument that the Celtics need to upgrade their point guard position. I also feel the same for the Celts. They really need to improve on their point guard spot. They need a point guard who can score and who can help the aging Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. Allen and Pierce are not that young anymore. They are now on their early thirties and their playing minutes on the court are getting shorter and shorter. They need a leader and a scorer who can take over on the court when they are on the bench.

For one, I want Chris Paul on the Celtics because I believe that he and Rondo are somehow have the same ability to create and orchestrate plays for their teammates. We've seen that throughout the course of their respective careers in the NBA. That's why I don't see any reason why CP3 won't fit in with the Celtics' style of playing. The Celtics and the Hornets' used a box offense that's full of weak-side and off-side screens to free up their shooters. CP3 loves that kind of offense because he is a pick and pop shooter. He will provide more offense alternatives on the Celtics' offense and he will lighten up the burden of Ray Allen and Paul Pierce on the offensive end. We all know that that's the weakness of Rondo, he can't consistently shoot the ball unlike CP3. In CP3 you'll get a shooter, a scorer, a leader, and a point guard on the floor. He is better than Rondo, pound for pound. And that's why the Celtics' president, Danny Ainge is trying his very best to get CP3 in exchange for Rondo. He's acting really fast as New York is also going after CP3.

CP3 is better than Rondo. Just take a look at their averages.

Rondo averaged 10.6 points and 11.2 assists last season, while Paul averaged 15.8 per game and 9.8 assists.

But the biggest problem for the Celtics is that CP3 seems to believe in Confucius' saying, that "Wherever you go, go with your heart." CP3's heart belongs to New Orleans. He has said that time and time again when he's being asked by the media about his possible future career moves.

Yesterday morning, he was once again interviewed by the media in a charity event in New York City regarding the rumored trade. He replied:

"I try not to pay attention to all that different type of stuff," Paul said. "My heart is in New Orleans."

B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados Outclassed Talk 'n Text Texters In PBA Season 37 Tuesday Game Edition: B-Meg Is Now In The 3rd Spot

The B-Meg Llamados are still riding on the crest of their momentum as they further their winning streak by beating the undermanned Talk n Text Tropang Texters, with a final score of 114-104 for the 2nd game of the PBA 37th Season Tuesday Edition at Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

"Big Game" King James Yap still on his throne as he finished the game with 27 points, shooting on a very impressive clip, 14/17 on the field. He is the biggest reason why B-Meg managed to retain the lead during the 1st half. He was unstoppable in firing great baskets. The first half ended with the score of 53-42 in favor of B-Meg.

During the 3rd quarter, the story turned upside down as TNT had a 19-5 run in the last 4:07 mins. of the quarter and accomplished a lead transition, 76-78, from 5 successful attempts from the 3 point line courtesy of Jimmy Alapag and Shawn Weinstein.

B-Meg, in the 4th Quarter, desiring to stop the momentum of the Texters, regained their composure as they produced a 13-3 run of their own to regain the lead.

But the Texters also, tried to make another run with 5 mins. left on the game clock in order to survive, but they fell short as Kerby Raymundo executed more successful field goals that kept TNT on the losing end of the stick.

Although Jimmy Alapag showed his prescence in this ball game, the Tropang Texters are still undermanned because they played without Jared Dillinger, Ali Peek and Ryan Reyes. They are now on a 2 game losing streak because of their absence.

As a result of this loss of TNT, Petron now has the top spot while the B-Meg Llamados climbed up to the 3rd spot.

Philippine Cheerdance Team Finished 3rd Place In Cheerleading World Championship In Hong Kong

Congratulations to the Philippine Cheerdance Team. They got the 3rd place award in the recently concluded Cheer-leading World Championship (CWC) that was held in Hong Kong. By the way, the Philippine Squad is composed of students from PUP, CEU, and UP.

Out of 8 great countries in the world of Cheerdancing, the Philippine Team was able to finish 3rd in the Cheer Mixed category behind the powerhouse teams such as Japan and Thailand. Below are the final team rankings in the recently concluded CWC. Job Well Done Team Philippines!

Dennis Espino Wanted By Police After Illegally Detaining His Secretary: The Former PBA Player Is At Large

Dennis Espino, the former Sta. Lucia Realtors and Powerade Tigers player is on the watch list of the Police after he illegally detained his secretary. He is otherwise wanted by the Police on the grounds of Serious Illegal Detention that is a felony in the Philippines. The judge deemed it to be of no bail.

According to the TV Show that I watched last November 28, 2011, Espino detained his secretary in his farm in Pampanga. The family of the Secretary said that she has already resigned from his work in Espinos' farm but Mr. Espino didn't allow her to leave because there was no formal turnover, meaning, Espino has not yet found a new employee that could replace her. Espino also said that the detained secretary broke some of his dinner plates and that she has not yet settled it monetarily.

The NBI agents visited the farm of Espino in Pampanga to serve the warrant of arrest, but the latter was not there. Thus, Espino is now declared wanted by the Police. He is still at large.
