Scottie Thompson and Sol Mercado Have a Promise To Kevin Ferrer!

    Social Media Scoop:

Players come and go, but the family ties that they established with their teammates will be cherished forever. That's exactly true especially when you play for Ginebra.

Take for example Kevin Ferrer. He played several conferences as a Gin King, but as destiny would have it, he abruptly figured in a trade that was formalized yesterday. He will go to NorthPort along with Jervy Cruz and Sol Mercado in exchange for Stanley Pringle.

He played his last game for Ginebra last Sunday as they beat San Miguel in Overtime. He played his hearts out as he defended well while doing some damage on the offensive end. I was fortunate enough to be able to watch that game live at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

I saw how determined he was to contribute. I even told my GF that there's something in Kevin Ferrer in that game as he was playing extra hard, perhaps he was trying to prove something especially when he drove to the basket did a shot fake then nailed the lay-up. That made me say he has vastly improved as a player.

He can do more. That's what I believe. But now in a different team as he has been traded.

Unfortunately, we won't be seeing how good he will be but for sure, his teammates will be there for him as he continues his basketball journey.

A close friend of his, a former teammate and a former co-influencer for adidas, Scottie Thompson even promised to Kevin that he is his family, a brother for life!

Sol Mercado also made a remark that he will surely keep.... Now it's certain! Family is forever!!!

On a separate note, Scottie also posted a tribute to Sol Mercado. But as a warning, this one will make you teary-eyed.
