Tim Cone Talks About The Import That Gilas Pilipinas Needs

Gilas Pilipinas is on the lookout for the possible replacement of Andray Blatche who won't be able to play for the National Team in the upcoming FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2017 in China.

Few days ago, highly-touted 7'1 center Isaiah Austin entered the picture as a naturalized Gilas player candidate.

A tall and lanky player, Isaiah was considered to be a first-round prospect in the 2014 NBA draft until he was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome (a genetic disorder that affects the body's connective tissue) during a physical before the NBA draft. It prevented him from playing basketball for quite some time, but a development gave him a second chance as the his doctors have cleared him to play ball once again. He recently played for the Guangxi Rhinos of the Chinese National Basketball League.

The journey continues for him as he is set to go to the Philippines to train with our National Team starting Wednesday.

But in case things won't pan out, Coach Tim Cone talks about another possible Gilas reinforcement. He said that the versatile Ginebra import Justin Brownlee has what it takes to do the job.
