A Foreigner Spotted Wearing Marc Pingris Gilas Jersey in an LRT Station: Here's why He admires Pinoy Sakuragi!

An ordinary afternoon became extra ordinary when I bumped into an American who's a big pinoy basketball fan at the EDSA Taft LRT Station. He was standing tall and proud wearing the Gilas Pilipinas replica jersey of Jean Marc Pingris, the lone SMC player who just like him is proud to don the national team colors.

When I asked the foreigner on why he idolizes Pingris, his answer is plain and simple.

"My favorite player is Marc Pingris. I like him because he is not that tall but he is powerful. And also, he's playing for my girlfriend's favorite team Purefoods (now Star Hotshots)."

He was very happy when his favorite player played in the Jones Cup 2015 after speculations that he might miss it due to personal reasons. And just like all of us, he's 100 percent tuned in as the Nationals will once again try to bring honor and pride to our beloved country when they take on Asia's best ball clubs in the FIBA Asia Championship in China later this month.

"I felt a great relief when Pingris decided to play in the Jones Cup 2015. I will be watching him in the FIBA Asia Championship in China for sure."
