Jhoana Maraguinot Talks About Alyssa Valdez Comparison: Read it Here!

After winning their first few games in the Shakey's V-League Collegiate Conference 2015, Ateneo Lady Eagles' shining star Jhoana Maraguinot is slowly carving her own niche in the Philippine Collegiate Volleyball scene.

As she gets her own share of the limelight, Ateneo Lady Eagles fans can't help but compare her to the Phenom Alyssa Valdez after leading the team to a straight sets: 25-17, 25-13, and 25-21 win over the San Sebastian Lady Stags on Sunday. She churned out 10 attacks, 2 blocks, and 1 service ace.

For sure the Alyssa Valdez comparison is flattering, but the 5'8 open spiker insisted that she just felt the need to step-up along with her teammates.

"Lahat naman po kami nagsstep-up. Nagkakataon lang po yun," the very humble Maraguinot said during the V-League post-game interview when she was asked about being the next Alyssa Valdez.

Fans can go on and on with their comparisons, but one thing is for sure, Maraguinot will be a big star for the Lady Eagles in the succeeding years.
