adidas Nations x NBA Fit Skills Camp: Photos, ADIDAS PHILIPPINES PARTNERS WITH NBA FIT FOR GRASSROOTS PROGRAM

adidas Philippines and NBA brought you some of today's promising basketball talents ages 10-13 as they went under training with some of the most successful basketball coaches and players on Friday at the Gatorade Hoops Center in Shaw Boulevard.

Coach Brian Shaw of the Denver Nuggets and Alec Burks of the Utah Jazz were among the coaches who shared their invaluable basketball knowledge to the chosen participants such as the values of hardwork, discipline, and passion for the game.

Those three key values enabled Coach Shaw become an accomplished baller all throughout his career. And so, he made it a creed to develop players in the grassroots level to become elite athletes in the collegiate and professional leagues.

NBA Fit week and adidas Nations also share the same advocacy. They hope to impart that via the Skills Camp.

Being one of biggest basketball nations in Asia, the Philippines is a hub for young basketball talents. adidas Philippines brings back its focus on the youth through its grassroots program, adidas Nations. Partnering with NBA FIT, adidas Nations aims to develop the rich basketball talent in the country by giving young basketball players ages 10-13 a chance to participate in a series of basketball training camps.

Since 2007, adidas Nations has been bringing the best in coaching and skills training to challenge the young basketball players of today to compete against their peers nationally and globally. adidas Nations provides future basketball stars an intimate basketball skills development experience with NBA coaches and NBA players to help them step up their game.

The NBA FIT Week is the NBA’s program that highlights the importance of healthy living through three pillars: be active, eat healthy, and play together. One of the initiatives of the NBA FIT Week is the NBA Fit | adidas Nations Skills Camp which aims to encourage athletes to learn to be active in their chosen sport.

“The kids here in the Philippines are crazy for basketball. A lot of them have potential and we want to give them the opportunity to be trained by some of the best in the sport. Here in adidas, we want only the best for our athletes, and that includes opportunities like these training camps and providing them with products that have the latest in technology and innovation – an example of this would be the Crazylight Boost 2015 which features Primeknit technology for the first time ever in a basketball shoe, along with Boost cushioning. We consider it as our most innovative basketball shoe yet. It’s lightweight which allows our athletes to be quick on their feet,” shared Pat Giron, adidas PH Category Lead for Basketball.

NBA champion, Brian Shaw and Utah Jazz shooting guard, Alec Burks, along with some of the country’s most successful coaches and players lead the NBA FIT | adidas Nations Skills Camp held at the Gatorade Hoops Center in Mandaluyong where future basketball stars underwent a series of activities to test and hone their skills.
