Bea de Leon didn't suit-up for the 2nd straight game due to the finger injury that she sustained in their practice. Her team will definitely miss her 8.2 points scoring output per game especially now that they are aiming for that rare elimination round sweep.

An unheralded rookie rose to the challenge. She's none other than Maddie Madayag. Maddie took over the position that was vacated by de Leon, and much to the delight of the Ateneo Lady Eagles fans, she was able to deliver and help Ateneo beat the FEU Lady Tamaraws in 3 sets last February 4 at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

And today, just before the Ateneo Lady Eagles-UST Tigresses match, Maddie disclosed that she's dedicating her game to fellow rookie Bea de Leon.

"I still feel pressured pero ngayon mas okay na kasi nakalaro na ko last game. Parang ginawa namin ito para kay Bea. Gusto ko rin mag step-up and mag help sa team. We're doing it really for Bea and the team, but were hoping na maka slip into the sweep," the tall, lanky, and Davao native middle blocker Maddie Madayag said in an interview.
