The Smart Gilas Pilipinas Men's National basketball Team wowed the crowd inside the Antibes Arena in France after giving the French National squad a run for their money in their tune-up game which unexpectedly became a hard-fought showdown due to Gilas' fine performance.
France got the win via a slim 7-point advantage, 75-68 at the end of regulation, but you have to give credit to our feisty Gilas squad because they never backed down against a team full of NBA players such as Nicolas Batum, Boris Diaw, Nando De Colo, Ian Mahinmi etc..
Japeth Aguilar electrified his teammates when he dunked over the outstretched arms of Pacers big man Ian Mahinmi in the first quarter. From that point on Gilas showed tremendous energy in keeping up with the Frenchmen.
