Arellano Chiefs Outblasted Lyceum Pirates In NCAA Season 89 Basketball

    By Raymark Silapan

Manila, Philippines- LPU started the game with a lot of confidence, but Arellano found a way to outblast the gritty Pirates, (68-60).

In the first half, LPU found it hard to produce points because of too many unforced turnovers. On the other hand, AU's stars Jiovanni Jalalon, Ralph Salcedo and James Forrester all contributed for the Chiefs. Together, they produced a huge 12 point lead for Arellano at the end of the first quarter, (17-5). In the Second quarter, Arellano was still on the lead, but the Pirates had a little run to cut down the Chiefs' lead to 7, 33-26.

In the second half of the game, Mbomiko of Lyceum boosted up his team's morale by showing his emotions and passion for the game. Unfortunately for the Pirates, Jalalon, Francisco and Agovida caught fire in the 4th quarter to settle their first win in the NCAA Season 89.

"Nag-execute kami. Yung mga teammates ko nagtulong tulong kami. emotionally, stable kami," said Jalalon during the post-game interview.

    Quarter scores:

    17-5, 33-26, 53-42, 68-60
