One would think that the UST Tigresses will just cruise pass the NU Lady Bulldogs in their game today specially after their impressive win against the pre-season favorite DLSU Lady Archers last Sunday, but it was the other way around.
The NU Lady Bulldogs shocked UST by taking the first 2 sets via a convincing fashion. DinDin Santiago and Myla Pablo dominated the match as the frontline of UST seemed
tired and less energetic in stopping the spikers of NU.
UST elevated their energy and took the 3rd set. Pam Lastimosa played well in the 3rd set for UST. But unfortunately they failed to sustain their momentum as the 4th set became a carbon copy of the 1st and 2nd sets as NU raced to a quick 11-2 advantage. Since then the Lady Bulldogs never looked back to UST as they won the match via 4 sets.
The Lady Bulldogs simply played inspired volleyball in front of the NU Athletics Director Coach Junel Baculi who’s also celebrating his birthday today.
Earlier in the first game, the Ateneo Lady Eagles defeated the UE Lady Warriors via 3 straight sets, 25-16, 25-13 and 25-13. Fille Cainglet was the player of the game with 13 points.
