The Adamson Lady Falcons defeated the NU Lady Bulldogs in the UAAP Season 75 Women’s Volleyball Opening Game at The Arena in San Juan.
The game went down the wire. The set scores will prove that: 15-25, 25-21, 25-22, 18-25, 15-10.
NU took the first set. Adamson woke up to take the 2nd and 3rd sets. And then NU fought back to take the 4th set. The 5th set was a very tight one as Adamson had to come back from a huge 9-6 deficit via a 9-1 run to take the all important 5th set that gave them the win.
Pau Soriano led the Adamson Falcons in this come from behind win. She had a total of 17 successful attack hits and four impressive blocks. Shiela Pineda and Adamson rookie Mandy Villanueva had 12 and 10 statistical points respectively to help Soriano.
DinDin Santiago, as expected carried the NU Lady Bulldogs in this match. She registered 16 attack hits, six service aces and 1 block. Myla Pablo helped DinDin with her 17 successful attack hits.
Scoring was not an issue for NU. It was the unforced turnovers that they committed in the 2nd and 3rd sets that negatively affected their campaign.
Adamson's next game will be on December 8 (Sat) vs. DLSU.
